By 2015, the Mario had done it all. Hundreds of games from platformers to 3D open worlds to party games and RPGs and kart-racers and sports of all different varieties filled the market. Where else could they go? What else could they do? Simple. Give the power to make the games over into the hands of the players.
This was Super Mario Maker, which became a smash hit around the world within hours of its release. Hundreds of players who had been playing the games for more than thirty years now had the power to turn their own ideas for how to design a Mario level into reality. With the game, Mario donned a new look, complete with a construction helmet and a hammer, taking up the role of a construction worker to put the levels together.
As a fighter, Builder Mario will represent the Mario Maker series as a whole, his moveset pulling from all the options players have to build and design their levels, as well as the few original items added in just for the game. He will likely be much stronger than Mario, a natural result of working in a construction site all day. He might be a little slower though, but not by much.
