Six of the seven star pieces collected and the bulk of the Smithy Gang defeated, our heroes head back to Bowser’s Castle to fight the giant sword in the middle of it. When the sword is defeated, it opens up a portal to the world the Smithy Gang came from. Inside, they find a massive factory, with the mastermind and forge master behind it all waiting for them.
This is Smithy, the leader and creator of the Smithy Gang. He desired to conquer the Mario world, and attempted to destroy the star pieces in order to eradicate the power of wishes, leaving the people of the world without the hope they would need to fight back. He guards the final star piece and acts as the final boss of the game.
As a playable fighter, he will be strong but slow, not too particularly built for much movement away from his forge, mostly relying on his minions for all of that. His moveset will pull from his final boss battle, both the initial phase as well as the later phases with his interchangeable head.
