Before Mario Maker, there was Mario Paint, a creative game that let players draw and compose music and all manner of fun activities. Most famously, it had an interactive opening screen where each letter of the game’s title caused a different random effect to happen.
The stage for the game will be centrally based on the opening title screen, with walk-offs on both sides of the screen and the letters of the title hanging above the fighters, which will cause effects similar to the original when struck. At certain intervals, the stage will switch to one of the game’s four modes for a short time.
