Throughout several Mario games, there have been food and candy-themed levels of all shapes and sizes, such as Tart Top and Sweet Sweet Canyon of the Mario Kart series. A cake themed and possibly baked by Princess Peach has also been a common theme, featured in the central plot of Super Mario 64 and a memorable board in the first Mario Party.
This stage will combine those ideas, being set on a giant cake covered in pink icing with a number of other cookies and treats floating around it as platforms. The icing will smear and splatter on the screen when super-powerful attacks are performed, and the terrain might be a little slippery sometimes.
