Super Mario Odyssey is the most recent major 3D Mario adventure and one of the most important games released for the Nintendo Switch. One of its most iconic worlds was New Donk City set in the Metro Kingdom, a city-themed world heavily inspired by the original Donkey Kong arcade game, and featuring the return of Mario’s old girlfriend Pauline, propelling her back into popularity.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate featured a stage based on this world, though it was heavily centered on the towering city hall, facing away from the bulk of the city. If I were to redesign it, I would pull it back a bit and set it more on the buildings around the city hall so that one could get a better view of the city they are familiar with. And of course, the Odyssey ship will appear in the background.
