Cast out of the castle with his minions, the Mario brothers, and the princess nowhere to be found, Bowser sets out to reclaim his kingdom and get his revenge on Fawful. He doesn’t go too far before he encounters a strange merchant made of blocks, working in the business of peddling the various item blocks found throughout the game.
This is Broque Monsieur, a flamboyant Frenchman who provides Bowser with a number of upgrades he needs to fight Fawful and Midbus. The merchant would appear again in the game’s sequel, Dream Team, accompanying the Mario brothers and Princess Peach to his home on Pi’illo Island, where a number of others of his species live and work.
Broque Monsieur will only take up the first color swap slot, a number of his other more prominent fellows acting as alternates, such as Madame Broque and Boss Brickle. Their moveset will pull from the various power-ups Broque provides Bowser, including his dog Broggy, and will also pull from various tools and items used by the blocky race throughout Dream Team as well.
