Mario and Pauline aren’t the only ones with an eye out for Donkey Kong. Rival circus proprietors soon learn of the profitable ape’s escape, some willing to go out and capture the gorilla themselves, stealing the act for their own circus.
Most notable is Barney Todd, Mario’s bitter rival in the business. During the endless chase for the wily ape, they and Barney’s circus cross paths, Barney seizing the opportunity to capture the ape and convince him to become part of his act.
As a fighter, Barney’s moveset will pull from all the various circus elements of his episode, as well as the circus elements scattered throughout the series. As a carnival performer, he will have the decent speed and strength he’d need to wrangle the dangerous animals he tames.
