Much like Origami Kingdom, I feel the best way to represent the gimmick Paper Marios is to design stages built around their gimmicks. An obvious location for Color Splash is Port Prisma, the hub world of the game and the location of the Paint Fountain.
This stage will take place on and around the Paint Fountain, with walk-offs on either side. Intermittently, the fountain will spray its paint high into the air, dousing the characters with paint of all different colors. They can fight on top of the paint plume, though if they do this for too long, the paint will mix and turn black, negatively affecting the players covered in paint.
