In 1989, the Mario series would see its most famous television adaptation, an animated series starring Mario and Luigi as plumbers that fell through a pipe and came out in a strange world loosely based on Super Mario Bros. 2. Teaming up with Princess Peach and Toad to fight the villainous King Koopa, the brothers step up to become heroes.
This is the television version of Mario, famously played by professional wrestler Lou Albano both in live action and as a voice. The show would put a heavy emphasis on the brothers’ profession as plumbers and Mario’s love of pasta, often using them in battle against Koopa.
As a fighter, TV Mario would be a bit of an amalgam of his animated design and Captain Lou’s live action appearance. His attributes will be about the same to the game version of Mario, if a little heavier from all the pizza. His moveset will pull from all across the show, specifically focusing on plumbing and pasta.
