Super Paper Mario had two key iconic locations besides the various worlds the game visited. The first was the hub world Flipside where the heroes gathered after completing a world. The second was the shadowy castle in a dark dimension full of simple lined shapes forming structures where Count Bleck and his minions plotted their schemes.
This stage will be set within that world where Count Bleck dwelt, set outside his castle so that its shape could be seen in the background, with those grid-like platforms he and his minions gathered atop acting as platforms here and there.
