Character Sheet: Yunobo

YUNOBO

Today, we begin the third (and probably last) big character haul of the Zelda series, assuming the Tingle and CDi games, the remakes, the animated series, and the comics don't add in anything too drastic. Our list covers twenty-eight familiar faces, and they are:

1. Linkle

2. The Youth

3. Wild Zelda

4. Wild Impa

5. Twili Midna

6. Lana

7. Darmani

8. Yunobo

9. Mikau

10. Sidon

11. Teba

12. Riju

13. Hestu

14. Epona

15. Tingle

16. Agitha

17. Purah & Robbie

18. Yves

19. Terrako

20. King Rhoam

21. Wild Fairies

22. Monk Maz Koshia

23. Cia

24. Astor

25. Volga

26. Wizzro

27. Manhandla

28. Sooga

Today, let's cover Yunobo, Daruk's descendant in the modern day in Breath of the Wild, and Link's companion as he makes his way up Death Mountain to board Vah Rudania. He's also one of the only major named Gorons whose name doesn't start with "Dar-." I don't know, man, it feels weird. He is nice and friendly, but clumsy and lacking confidence in himself, even though he definitely knows his way around a cannon.

Young Yunobo's biggest weapon is the cannon that he fires himself out of. From there, he is a big fan of rock roast, using it to give himself energy, can slap people with his big rough hands, can bounce up and down like many of his race, can throw a rocket fist forward, can leave a create a crater in the ground, summon lava, create a barrier, and throw rocks. All pretty standard Goron stuff, but unique in certain ways to him.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Rocket Fist

He will pull his fist back as fire flares up around his wrist, releasing it after a few seconds for a devastating punch.

Side B: Double Slap

He will slap his big hands forward, clapping an opponent between them. This will not send an opponent flying, but will deal heavy damage and disorient them for a short time.

Up B: Goron Cannon

He will roll up into his cannon. For easy recovery, if you just tap it, he will fire immediately upward, but for a projectile attack set on the ground, you can hold it and then can aim the cannon around and fire at will.

Down B: Rock Roast

He will pull out and devour a rock roast, healing some damage and giving him an extra boost of strength for a short time.

Final Smash: Vah Rudania

It would make sense for him to inherit Daruk's moveset, though if we want, we can mix it up a bit. Daruk's will be a bit more under control, functioning as if he is piloting it, while Yunobo's will be out of his control, climbing up in the background and firing down on the stage as it does when Link and Yunobo are trying to board it. This logic should be able to follow with Sidon, Teba, and Riju as well.

Entrance: He will tumble out on top of a pile of rocks, then rub his head in embarrassment.

Taunts: Up, he will pull out a rock roast and take a long whiff. Down, Daruk's ghost will appear and slap him on the back. Down, he will curl up as if going to sleep.

Thanks for reading! Next up, let's cover the rock star from the land of Termina, Mikau!
