Character Sheet: Darmani

DARMANI

Today, we begin the third (and probably last) big character haul of the Zelda series, assuming the Tingle and CDi games, the remakes, the animated series, and the comics don't add in anything too drastic. Our list covers twenty-eight familiar faces, and they are:

1. Linkle

2. The Youth

3. Wild Zelda

4. Wild Impa

5. Twili Midna

6. Lana

7. Darmani

8. Yunobo

9. Mikau

10. Sidon

11. Teba

12. Riju

13. Hestu

14. Epona

15. Tingle

16. Agitha

17. Purah & Robbie

18. Yves

19. Terrako

20. King Rhoam

21. Wild Fairies

22. Monk Maz Koshia

23. Cia

24. Astor

25. Volga

26. Wizzro

27. Manhandla

28. Sooga

Today is a really easy one, because the moveset's already been made, our fighter just gets to inherit it from Darunia and Daruk who have gone on to new movesets of their own, while he gets to be the catchall for the generic catchall "Goron" moveset based solely on the mainline games. Though, seeing as he is the only actually playable Goron (in a sense) in the mainline games, it does seem only fair. As for who this character is, Darmani appeared in Majora's Mask as a Goron hero who had tried and failed to save their village from the freezing winter that had befallen them. Link encounters his body and is entrusted by the hero's spirit to carry on his mission and wear a mask that will transform Link into said hero's body.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Giant Punch

A natural fit, all Gorons have some pretty solid strength behind them.

Side B: Roll

Of course. It is one of the core moves Link gains when transformed into this character.

Up B: Ground Pound

Also a pretty solid standard for us to go on.

Down B: Bomb Flower

These are everywhere Gorons live in the games, so naturally this is an easy fit.

Final Smash: Biggoron

Considering this is exactly how Darmani died in the original game, I think it's only fair he dish it out on his various opponents.

Entrance: He will wake up from sleeping as a rock and sit up. (Still good with this, though if we wanted to have Young Link put on the mask, I guess that works too).

Taunts: Up, his spirit will float up out of his body and hang there in midair. Side, he will pull out his drums and play a tune on them. Down, he will roll up into a rock as if to sleep.

Thanks for reading! Next up, another Goron hero getting his own place in the sun.
