Character Sheet: Wizzro

WIZZRO

Today, we begin the third (and probably last) big character haul of the Zelda series, assuming the Tingle and CDi games, the remakes, the animated series, and the comics don't add in anything too drastic. Our list covers twenty-eight familiar faces, and they are:

1. Linkle

2. The Youth

3. Wild Zelda

4. Wild Impa

5. Twili Midna

6. Lana

7. Darmani

8. Yunobo

9. Mikau

10. Sidon

11. Teba

12. Riju

13. Hestu

14. Epona

15. Tingle

16. Agitha

17. Purah & Robbie

18. Yves

19. Terrako

20. King Rhoam

21. Wild Fairies

22. Monk Maz Koshia

23. Cia

24. Astor

25. Volga

26. Wizzro

27. Manhandla

28. Sooga

While the connection between Wizzro and Vaati is not nearly as clear and obvious as Cia and Volga, it is still a shadowy demonic being sealed away, who often wears a purple robe, with a single eye showing at certain times. I'd still be willing to bet he was supposed to be Vaati. He was just less further along in his moveset development, and so had more wiggle room to become more of a representative of ghostly or demonic enemies as a whole. With a name uncomfortably close to a recurring enemy type.

So, among his various moves, he can fire out ghostly orbs and a horizontal beam of spirit energy, he can move and teleport through pools of shadow, he can grab his opponents will Wallmasters that act as his hands, he can summon up demonic shadow beasts to pull his enemies into darkness, and he can set off dark explosions. I think there's more than enough here.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Spectral Beam

He will fire out his big horizontal beam in front of him. It can be moved around using the control stick.

Side B: Wallmaster

He will send out his Wallmaster Hand to grab an opponent and drag them toward him. The fighter will have to struggle to break free of its grip in order to get away.

Up B: Shadow Warp

He will disappear into a pool of shadow, reappearing in one of the other areas of the stage, preferably where there already is a shadow, though I don't know how feasible that would be.

Down B: Ghostly Orbs

He will spin and send out ghostly orbs around him that will detonate on contact.

Final Smash: Shadow Beasts

He will spread a wave of shadow across the ground as one-eyed shadow beasts leap up out of it, grabbing and devouring any players they catch and pulling them down to their KOs.

Entrance: His ring will lie on the ground and start to float as his body materializes.

Taunts: Up, his mouth will appear inside his cloak and he will start to laugh. Side, he will adjust his ring and admire it. Down, he will melt partially into shadow and look around.

Thanks for reading! Next up, an old boss enemy I've come to reconsider.
