Character Sheet: Lana

LANA

Today, we begin the third (and probably last) big character haul of the Zelda series, assuming the Tingle and CDi games, the remakes, the animated series, and the comics don't add in anything too drastic. Our list covers twenty-eight familiar faces, and they are:

1. Linkle

2. The Youth

3. Wild Zelda

4. Wild Impa

5. Twili Midna

6. Lana

7. Darmani

8. Yunobo

9. Mikau

10. Sidon

11. Teba

12. Riju

13. Hestu

14. Epona

15. Tingle

16. Agitha

17. Purah & Robbie

18. Yves

19. Terrako

20. King Rhoam

21. Wild Fairies

22. Monk Maz Koshia

23. Cia

24. Astor

25. Volga

26. Wizzro

27. Manhandla

28. Sooga

Today, let's move on to the friendly sorceress from the Valley of Seers, or at least, her good half: Lana. Lana appeared as an original character in Hyrule Warriors, a character relevant to the game's plot as the banished personified goodness of the game's initial antagonist, Cia. Also, if my theory about Cia, Volga, and Wizzro having initially been planned to be Veran, Onox, and Vaati holds true, then my guess would be that Lana initially came from the three oracles, the seven maidens from Link to the Past, or Saria (for the second moveset, at least).

In game, Lana comes with three distinct movesets: her spellbook (focused mostly on barrier magic), her spear (focused on nature), and her summoning gate that she can pull monsters from (three of whom are playable on their own, so I'm not sure what to do here, exactly). This gives her the power to summon protective walls that she can hop between or form into a cube and ride around on, the ability to cause trees, including the Great Deku Tree and its babies, to sprout from the ground. She can also send a flurry of pages forward, summon wind, lighting, water, and ice, and use a Deku Leaf and Deku Seeds.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Barrier Spell

She will summon a wall of light to act as a shield in front of her. The wall will linger for a short time, and she can wall jump off of it if needed.

Side B: Wind Gust

Based on . . . several moves, she will pull out a Deku Leaf and blow a strong gust forward, that will then turn into a whirlwind with several pages of her book flying in it.

Up B: Summoning Gate

She will jump into the summoning gate herself, popping out on the other side some distance away and creating a temporary point for teleportation.

Down B: Baby Deku Tree

She will grab a small branch growing out of the ground and pull upward. A Baby Deku Tree will then pop out of the ground, it's upward momentum knocking opponents into the air.

Final Smash: Monsters of Hyrule

Lana will place four summoning gates all over the stage. She will then do her little dance that she does as Dodongo's claws, Manhandla's vines, Gohma's laser beam, and Argorok's fire breath wreak havoc around her.

Entrance: She will emerge from a summoning gate.

Taunts: Up, she will do a part of the little dance that she does. Side, she will pull out her spell book and flip through it. Down, she will peer into her summoning gate just as a Cucco flies out and knocks her backwards.

Thanks for reading! Next up, the fallen hero of the Gorons of Termina!
