Character Sheet: Volga

VOLGA

Today, we begin the third (and probably last) big character haul of the Zelda series, assuming the Tingle and CDi games, the remakes, the animated series, and the comics don't add in anything too drastic. Our list covers twenty-eight familiar faces, and they are:

1. Linkle

2. The Youth

3. Wild Zelda

4. Wild Impa

5. Twili Midna

6. Lana

7. Darmani

8. Yunobo

9. Mikau

10. Sidon

11. Teba

12. Riju

13. Hestu

14. Epona

15. Tingle

16. Agitha

17. Purah & Robbie

18. Yves

19. Terrako

20. King Rhoam

21. Wild Fairies

22. Monk Maz Koshia

23. Cia

24. Astor

25. Volga

26. Wizzro

27. Manhandla

28. Sooga

What I'm pretty sure started as an Onox moveset (general character with a swinging weapon and dragon-based moves, including a full dragon form) became the original character Volga, a shapeshifting dragon living in the caves near Eldin Volcano recruited to serve Cia in her bid to overthrow Hyrule. Even without an Onox basis, he does serve as a representative to the various dragon-type enemies throughout the series, such as Volvagia and Argorok.

As a fighter, Volga has both a human and a dragon form. He wields a sword as a human, and can breathe fire as a dragon. He can perform partial transformations as well, sprouting wings to fly and turning his arm to a dragon's arm in order to claw his enemies. He can also call up an eruption of flames, and splash flames out from himself.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Dragon Fire

He will breathe searing hot fire from his mouth at the opponents ahead of him. This will function similarly to Bowser or Charizard, though I could see it dealing slightly more damage.

Side B: Dragon Claw

He will transform his left arm into a dragon's arm and slash forward, dealing heavy damage with one strike.

Up B: Dragon Wings

He will sprout his wings out of his back and take off into the air, flying upwards with multiple flaps.

Down B: Eruption

He will stab his sword into the ground and cause a burst of flames to erupt from it, similarly to Ike's move of the same name.

Final Smash: Volvagia

He will transform into the dragon Volvagia and sweep over the stage, breathing fire upon it and lashing with his head tails.

Entrance: He will swoop in as a dragon and drop to the ground in his human form.

Taunts: Up, he will breathe fire into the sky above him (this will damage). Side, he will lash out with his sword with a growl. Down, he will stab his sword into the ground and laugh menacingly.

Thanks for reading! Next up, his companion representing the darker, more demonic enemies of Hyrule.
