Character Sheet: Hestu

HESTU

Today, we begin the third (and probably last) big character haul of the Zelda series, assuming the Tingle and CDi games, the remakes, the animated series, and the comics don't add in anything too drastic. Our list covers twenty-eight familiar faces, and they are:

1. Linkle

2. The Youth

3. Wild Zelda

4. Wild Impa

5. Twili Midna

6. Lana

7. Darmani

8. Yunobo

9. Mikau

10. Sidon

11. Teba

12. Riju

13. Hestu

14. Epona

15. Tingle

16. Agitha

17. Purah & Robbie

18. Yves

19. Terrako

20. King Rhoam

21. Wild Fairies

22. Monk Maz Koshia

23. Cia

24. Astor

25. Volga

26. Wizzro

27. Manhandla

28. Sooga

To anyone who knows The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, one certain sidequest to locate every single hidden Korok in the game is particularly infamous, first for its over 900 hidden members, and for the final prize being basically what looks like a giant golden turd. This sidequest is run by a giant Korok that likes to dance around while playing with a pair of maracas: Hestu. (He's also voiced by Cristina Vee, one of my favorite voice actresses, but that's neither here nor there).

Thanks to Age of Calamity, Hestu got himself a full moveset mostly based on himself and his fellow Koroks, including moves where a pair help him fly, where a group of them come out and charge, where arrows shoot at targets like in some of the minigames to find them, and where he uses a Korok leaf to blow wind. He can also smack with his maracas, shoot off fireworks, drop rocks from above, and throw junk around. I think we have more than enough.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Korok Charge

I would also like to include the Korok Leaf, but that has been used a few different times by various characters, so I feel comfortable leaving it out. Instead, a hidden Korok will appear in front of Hestu and roll forward, knocking into other players.

Side B: Archery Targets

Archery targets will pop up a short space in front of Hestu as arrows shoot toward them, striking anyone in their path, similar to how Duck Hunt works.

Up B: Korok Carry

A pair of Koroks will appear and carry Hestu upwards with their little spinning leaves.

Down B: Fireworks

Hestu will do a little dance with his maracas and pose as fireworks shoot off in both directions behind him.

Final Smash: Golden Korok Seed

Hestu will pose and strike someone with his maraca. That person will then be bombarded by all nine hundred Korok seeds, each doing one damage each, before Hestu pulls out the Golden Korok Seed trophy and hits you with it for the finishing blow.

Entrance: A flurry of leaves will appear before Hestu pops into existence.

Taunts: Up, Hestu will hold up the Golden Korok Seed. Side, Hestu will do a little dance with his maracas. Down, Hestu will go "Wah-ha-ha!" like the hidden ones do.

Thanks for reading! Next up, a horse.
