BONES BAILEY
Now, we have finished the television series, and we have SO many characters to cover, from all across the spectrum. There are a few characters here and there that might get a few upgrades to their movesets, mostly being the Donkey Kong cast (one example, I think Klump should absolutely have a Klaptrap gun now). But, there are so many that are so distinct from their game counterparts, I could only make a brand new slot for them. They are:
1. Beezo
2. Flurry
3. Rex
4. Tryclyde

Bones Bailey is . . . well, he's a Shaggy knockoff created as a companion for Donkey Kong Jr. in the Donkey Kong Jr. segments of the Saturday Supercade. He was a friendly greaser who found Junior looking depressed upon arriving at the circus and finding his father had escaped. Bones gave Junior the encouragement he needed to go after his father, with Bones tagging along on the adventure. He was voiced by Bart Braverman, who seems to have largely retired from voice acting, his last credit being in 2015.
Across the various episodes, Bones is the standard well-meaning but clumsy doofus with a bit of a cowardly side, most of his contributions to the plot being accidentally stumbling into things and causing more trouble for Junior. That said, he does have a few actions to his name that we can pull from. These include: hanging from a tree branch, throwing acorns, pole vaulting, rolling on a trash can, bouncing on a mattress, swinging on a tire, jumping a hurdle, riding a bicycle, smacking with a purse, riding a skateboard, working a cement mixer, using a plunger, rolling on a giant ball, roller skate, smack with a broom, ski, and dress up as his female cousin.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Trash Can
One of his most frequent mishaps, and a move that best represents his clumsy nature, would be him getting stuck up on top of a rolling garbage can, leading to him crashing into something. Basically, the can would appear underneath him and he'd roll on it for a couple of seconds before moving in a certain direction and slamming into the nearest obstacle.
Side B: Roller Skate and Broom
This one is based on one of his focus episode where he dresses up as his cousin. During the chase scene he is rolling around on roller skates and smacking people with a broom. This will be much more controllable, whereas the first would only last as long as they avoid an obstacle and mostly moves on its own.
Up B: Pole Vault
This is based on an episode where Junior trains a bunch of kids to be more physically capable, with Bones following along with it all. One of the moves learned is using a long pole to pole vault themselves up into the air, which he will do.
Down B: Hurdle
He will jump over a hurdle as part of the above-mentioned training regimen, except in true Shaggy-expy fashion, he will trip over it, knocking it over and landing on anything in close proximity to him, doing damage (a little like Isabella's tripping attack).
Final Smash: Monkey Muscle
Now, it's entirely possible that these could be integrated into DK or Junior's movesets, and that's fine, but as Bones is the most notable representative of the Supercade series as a whole, it would work well to have the Supercade versions of DK and Junior appear on screen, shout out their catchphrases ("Monkey Muscle!!!" and "Dooon-Keey Koooong!!!"), and proceed to beat up the opponent in question.
Entrance: He'll pull up on his and Junior's bike and climb out of the sidecar.
Taunts: Up, he will put up his arms and mimic his pal's "Monkey Muscle!" Side, he will rub the back of his neck and look embarrassed. Down, he will slip on a peel and fall, looking around in embarrassment.
Thanks for reading! Next up, let's cover the caveman Oogtar from Super Mario World!
