Character Sheet: The Genie

THE GENIE

Now, we have finished the television series, and we have SO many characters to cover, from all across the spectrum. There are a few characters here and there that might get a few upgrades to their movesets, mostly being the Donkey Kong cast (one example, I think Klump should absolutely have a Klaptrap gun now). Next up, we have the genie from the episode "Mario's Magic Carpet," not to be confused with a certain similarly named blue character or any other variation on such. The episode is a parody on the Aladdin story, and thus she is based on said genie of the lamp, though this time portrayed as an obnoxious nagging woman similar to a Cloris Leachman-type character or something like that. In the episode, we see her use all kinds of magic, including a stink spell, a flying spell that launches the targets straight up in the air, and reside inside a lamp. Other more episode based-items may include the magic carpets ridden by our heroes and villains, and a trampoline that acts as a trap set by a greedy sultan.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Magic Smell

First up, her accidental spell that ended up creating a stink cloud. I imagine this might act a bit like Piranha Plant's poison cloud and would inflict a poison effect.

Side B: Flying Spell

This one is the spell she accidentally casts on Mario and Luigi. She will cast it forward at an enemy. Anyone hit by it will be immediately sent straight up into the air. Their location on the stage and their damage meter will affect who disastrous that could be.

Up B: Magic Carpet

Based on the car-like magic carpets of the show, she will hop into one and drive it up into the air for a bit before coming back down.

Down B: Lamp

She will tuck down inside of her lamp as a defensive move. It will also likely drop, so it could be used offensively too.

Final Smash: Pasbah's Trap

Based on the sequence at the beginning, when Mario and his friends are caught by the greedy Sultan Pasbah to be sold into slavery, the genie will strike an opponent, sending them into a cutscene of them being launched by the trampoline onto a room, which will then flip and send them into the sultan's palace (off the stage).

Entrance: She will emerge from her lamp.

Taunts: Up, she will spread her hands and cause sparkles over her head. Side, I imagine her nagging has to be in here somewhere. Down, she will kick her foot, which has the lamp still stuck to it.

Thanks for reading! Next up is Brutius Maximus Grouchimus from the episode "The Great Gladiator Gig."
