Character Sheet: Wizenheimer

WIZENHEIMER

Now, we have finished the television series, and we have SO many characters to cover, from all across the spectrum. There are a few characters here and there that might get a few upgrades to their movesets, mostly being the Donkey Kong cast (one example, I think Klump should absolutely have a Klaptrap gun now). But, there are so many that are so distinct from their game counterparts, I could only make a brand new slot for them. They are:

1.     Beezo

2.     Flurry

Before there was Kamek, there was the Magikoopa Wizenheimer, who appeared in the third season of the animated series, based on Super Mario World. Wizenheimer does bear a bit more of a close resemblance to his game counterpart than, say, the Koopalings, but he is distinctly larger than Kamek would be, with a bit of a belly, and a slightly stereotypical Jewish way of speaking, sort of a Mel Brooks-ish kind of parody. In fact, now that I'm writing it out loud, I'm fairly certain he was a Mel Brooks parody. He even has the whole "mad scientist" vibe going on.

Across his handful of appearances, we see the wizard summon up a thick fog to hide his presence, cast lightning, create bombs out of magic, hypnotize his enemies, vanish and reappear somewhere else, and transform someone into an egg. Obviously, as you can see, Wizenheimer borrows heavily from the games on which he's based, but he's distinct enough that I felt he could stand as a character on his own.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Egg Transformation

Based on an episode where he transforms Luigi into an egg. He will cast a spell and any opponent hit by it will be transformed into an egg for a short time.

Side B: Hypnotism

Basically, this will be a physical attack deflector, sort of like how Mario's cape turns an opponent around. Wizenheimer will cast his hypnotism and his opponent will get turned around to stop them from attacking him. Lightning could also work here.

Up B: Vanish

Probably the one he shares with Kamek and Kammy, Wizenheimer will make himself vanish and reappear higher, just like they do.

Down B: Fog

Wizenheimer will whip up a cloud of fog around himself to cover him and obscure him from harm.

Final Smash: Magic Blast

This is more based on how he's beaten in his first appearance. Basically, Yoshi swallows his wand, and then magic builds inside the dinosaur's belly until he unleashes it from his mouth. Basically that, except Yoshi won't be part of it.

Entrance: He will make himself appear.

Taunts: Up, he will wave around his wand to cause sparkles. Side, he will jump up and down shouting "It's Wizenheimer! Wizenheimer!" as a response to someone mispronouncing his name. Down, he will look around for herbs to make a potion.

Thanks for reading! Now, let's begin the Saturday Supercade one-offs, starting with the homicidal orangutan actor, Clovis!
