Mario All-Stars Adventure Mode

ADVENTURE MODE

Opening scene: We return to the party at Peach’s Castle. Mario, Luigi, and Peach all stare into the five portals that had opened up when suddenly characters start spilling from each. From one is the entire Kong family and several of their friends. From another, a herd of Yoshis and several babies emerge. From a third, Wario and Waluigi appear, bringing with them several characters unfamiliar to Mario and his friends. The fourth brings several characters familiar to Mario, some made of paper. And from another emerges multiple different versions of the Mario brothers and several other strange characters. There is much confusion, with all the different characters interacting, and the castle gets far too full. Peach tries to figure out what’s going on, and comes up with an idea.

She calls for quiet and presents six new party boards. Each one is based on different themes and characters. Every character you have unlocked across all six previous adventure modes are available to you here. While the board itself plays like a Mario Party game, instead of minigames, the players compete in a random selection of sidescrolling levels, kart races, RPG battles, WarioWare microgames, tennis matches, golf rounds, and Smash battles against characters from each board’s home roster. The characters all agree to play, and the fun begins. However, Bowser and the other villains aren’t done yet.

Board 1: Mushroom Kingdom Board

This one is based entirely on the Super Mario Bros. series, and features worlds and locales from that area and the characters from that main roster as your minigame opponents, with Peach as your host. Bowser and Bowser Jr. will play the Bowser and Koopa Kid roles respectively.

Board 2: Kongo Jungle Board

This one is likewise based entirely on the Donkey Kong Country games in the same basic ways. Cranky will host, and King K. Rool and Kaptain Skurvy will play Bowser and Koopa Kid’s roles.

Board 3: Yoshi’s Island Board

This one is entirely based on the Yoshi games. Baby Mario will be the host, with Baby Bowser and Kamek in the antagonist roles.

Board 4: Diamond City Board

This one is based on both the Wario Land and Wario Ware games. Wario himself will host, and Captain Syrup and the Shake King will play the antagonists.

Board 5: Toad Town Board

This one is based on the various RPGs, with lots of papercraft elements here and there. Merlon will host, and Dimentio and Fawful will be the antagonists.

Board 6: Dinohattan Board

This one is based entirely around the multimedia portions of the Mario series. Prince Haru will be your host, and King Koopa and President Koopa will play the villain roles.

Unlockable Board: Villain Board

This one is unlocked after you have successfully played through each board. The villains form an ultimate alliance and unveil a board of their own, completely crawling with every villain out there. Bowser and King K. Rool will be the main antagonists.

Upon the villains’ ultimate defeat, all of the heroes and villains gather together. Bowser acknowledges his loss, and Peach extends a hand of friendship, inviting them all to join the remaining festivities. Before the party can start up again though, a interdimensional rift rips open and Master Hand appears within it, laughing maniacally. He closes his hand as if grabbing them and a terrible suction pulls every single character into the rift. The rift closes, swallowing them all up.
