We've had our barbarians, our spellcasters, our swordsmen, and so many others, but what series is ever really complete without their spooky ghost enemy type? For the Legend of Zelda series, that ghost is the Poe, aptly named after a certain renowned horror author, Poes first appeared in Link to the Past but did not truly become a major player until Ocarina of Time, where they were known to haunt graveyards, were the main focus of a major sidequest, and four of them haunted the Forest Temple.

Across Ocarina and all of their subsequent appearances, Poes were known to disappear, carry lanterns with which they could throw flames or spin. They could haunt paintings and puzzle blocks, create illusions and curse their enemies. In Wind Waker, a whole bunch of them could combine into the boss Jalhalla, and in Twilight Princess, they wielded a scythe and could create blue fire.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Ghostly Flame

They will swing out with their lantern and toss a ball of fire that will burn an opponent, or linger for a second on the stage as a hazard.

Side B: Lantern Spin

The scythe is also an option, but that one works well for their standard moves. This will be based more on Ocarina with them spinning forward, their lantern acting as a bludgeoning weapon.

Up B: Vanish

The Poe will spin upwards and disappear, reappearing higher up in the air.

Down B: Painting Illusion

Three paintings will appear on the stage a short distance from each other. The Poe will then vanish into it. Players can attack the paintings but only one of them will hold the actual Poe.

Final Smash: Jalhalla

The Poe will summon in a bunch of its friends, and they will combine into Jalhalla, bouncing around the stage and spewing flames.

Entrance: They will spin into existence just like in Ocarina.

Taunts: Up, the Poe will hold its lantern up and look around. Side, it will swing around its scythe for a moment. Down, it will conduct a short symphony for a second, just like in Majora's Mask.

Thanks for reading! The Deku Scrubs, including the young scrub Link could become.
