Today, let's cover the Darknuts! Though their name calls up images of such characters as the Joker, Harley Quinn, and Bellatrix Lestrange, they are actually heavily armored knights that serve Ganon through multiple games, sometimes as bosses, sometimes as enemies, always with one core concept behind them: you have to break their armor first before you can kill the warrior underneath. Iron Knuckles also fit this mold, but as far as I could tell, there really is no difference between them, the name difference was really just a translation thing across the different games.

Across their various game appearances, we see them wield a giant axe, slamming and spinning with it, sometimes hard enough to break a pillar. Other times, they wield broadswords, carry shields, spears, twin swords, maces, and will even throw a punch when all out of options. Pretty standard stuff, but definitely stuff we can use. I think we'll go with the axe as base weapon and go from there. Also, I imagine it would have a gimmick of losing its armor at around 100% damage or so, reducing its defense but giving it a boost in speed.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Axe Slam

This will be one of those Captain Falcon/Roy level moves, where the Darknut will raise its axe for an extended charging period, slamming down with one of the most powerful attacks in the game if it connects.

Side B: Spear

It will draw out a long spear and thrust forward with it, using a shield to defend itself in the process.

Up B: Broadsword Spin

This one will be similar to Link's sword spin acting as his Up B, except that his will have broader range and hit harder, but will not carry them up nearly as high.

Down B: Collapsing Pillar

It will swing its axe as hard as it can into a pillar, breaking it and causing it to collapse forward.

Final Smash: Iron Knuckle Battle

Since the boss battle in Ocarina of Time happened to get the Iron Knuckle name, I could see a somewhat recreation of that battle, with pillars propping up a ceiling above the stage, and the Iron Knuckle moving about and swinging its axe, breaking down all the pillars and collapsing the ceiling on top of the players.

Entrance: It will start in a state of dormancy before getting to its feet.

Taunts: Up, it will hold up its axe in a meditative pose. Side, it will hop around on its feet with its weapons out, similar to the Wind Waker versions. Down, it will rest and seem to go dormant.

Thanks for reading! Next up, a Moblin/Bokoblin-type unique to Twilight Princess.
