Today, we cover the Bokoblins, first introduced in Wind Waker as the "small" variants of the Moblins, they quickly took over as the go-to base level mook on the same level as, say, Koopa Troopas, with Moblins appearing as the more challenging later-game opponents. In many ways, they are similar but distinct enough to not be echo fighters.

Through the years, Bokoblins have proven versatile, specializing in virtually every type of weapon imaginable, including clubs, swords, shields, broadswords, cleavers, maces, staffs, bows and arrows, and bombs. They have also been known to fly around with Helmarocs, hide in pots and burst out of them, and throw boulders. Their Breath of the Wild camps especially are famous for having a bunch of exploding barrels lying around, and Skyward Sword featured a high-tech variant with electric weapons. They also tend to have lookouts stationed on towers that can be collapsed. I'm thinking club will be base weapon, leaving other things for the specials.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Bow and Arrow

Anyone who's played Breath of the Wild is familiar with trying to complete a task while a Bokoblin tries to snipe at you with arrows from just a little too far away. I figure that makes it more than prominent enough to include as the standard.

Side B: Boulder

Based mostly on Skyward Sword, the Bokoblin will push up against a large rock. Depending on the terrain, the rock will fall over, roll for a bit, roll all the way down, or drop on top of an enemy. Use it wisely.

Up B: Helmaroc

Making use of their rides from Wind Waker, a Helmaroc will grab the Bokoblin and carry it up into the air before dropping it and letting it divebomb back down.

Down B: Exploding Barrel

The Bokoblin will place an exploding barrel from Breath of the Wild. Same rules as the exploding crate items in Smash proper from there. It can only place one at a time.

Final Smash: Enemy Spotted

Naturally, the final smash will involve the player Bokoblin hopping onto a tower and blowing its horn, alerting its fellows who then swarm the stage. As this happens, the main Bokoblin will snipe with its arrows, getting a little too excited and breaking its tower, which will fall for the finisher.

Entrance: The Bokoblin will blow its horn.

Taunts: Up, the Bokoblin will let out another horn blow. Side, the Bokoblin will perk up and look around for enemies. Down, the Bokoblin will sit at a warm fire.

Thanks for reading! Next, the first enemy ever encountered in a Zelda game.
