Robbie

ROBBIE

From Impa’s house, you will be directed to seek out two Sheikah scientists. Depending on which direction you go, you will first come across an eccentric old man who tends to play air guitar a lot.

This is Robbie, one of the two leading scientists of Hyrule. He will play an important role in all three Breath of the Wild-related games, especially working together with Purah to become playable in Age of Calamity.

As a fighter, Robbie will draw fully from his Age of Calamity moveset, as most of that set had Robbie doing the fighting with a sawblade apparatus, while Purah stuck close behind him and manipulated the Sheikah Slate.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Ralis

RALIS

Next on his journey, Link will need the help of the Zora to find the next Fused Shadow. However, their queen Rutela was killed, and the crown prince had fallen ill.

This is Prince Ralis. Due to his parents’ passing and his fear to become king, Ralis slips into a deep depression, until Link, through the guidance of the fallen queen, helps pull him out of it. After this, Ralis becomes the central Zora character of the story.

As a fighter, he will act as an echo of his ancestor Princess Ruto, pulling from her movepool as well as his own. He will probably be a bit slower than Ruto but hit harder.

Likelihood rating: Could happen.

Darbus

DARBUS

As Link and Midna journey to gather the pieces of the Fused Shadow, they naturally come to Death Mountain and visit the Gorons. While there, they learn that their patriarch has disappeared into the mines, while a monster called Fyrus has started to terrorize them.

Fyrus turns out to indeed be the Goron patriarch, Darbus. After an intense battle, Darbus is freed of the curse placed on him by the shadow and becomes an ally to Link once again, acting as the central Goron character of Twilight Princess.

As a fighter, he will act as an echo of his ancestor Darunia, pulling from the same movepool. He will have a much greater focus on brute strength however, owing to his talent as a wrestler.

Likelihood rating: Could happen.

Goron

GORON

After receiving his quest from Zelda to collect the three sacred stones, Link will head up to Death Mountain, where he will find it inhabited by a race of rock creatures who like to roll around and eat rocks.

These are the Gorons, one of the five races of Hyrule who would soon become staples of all Zelda games following after. They are friendly and like to celebrate, and often welcome Link into their society as a brother.

As fighters, they will be strong and durable, though maybe not so much as their named counterparts. Their moveset will pull from the general abilities and features demonstrated by Gorons throughout the franchise.

Likelihood rating: Could happen.

Character Sheet: Zora

ZORA

And here's all the characters that I gave a definitive YES to during my second chance round. They are:

1.       Fierce Deity Link

2.       Kalin

3.       Darbus

4.       Ralis

5.       Gulley

6.       Osfala

7.       Irene

8.       Rosso

9.       Queen Oren

10.   Paya

11.   Rune

12.   Kanan

13.   Talon

14.   Ingo

15.   Gwonam

16.   Tetra’s Crew

17.   Kokiri

18.   Goron

19.   Zora

20.   Rito

21.   Korok

22.   Gerudo

23.   Stalchildren

24.   Ganon Blight

Now, we have the Zoras, Hyrule's water type. They started out way back in the original game as enemies, functionally "creature from the black lagoon" types that spat fire at you. When Ocarina came around, they were made a common NPC race, with their design shifting to "high elves with fish parts" as I call them. With Mikau having adopted most of the standard moveset, they can be echoes.

Here is their moveset:

Standard B: Fin Blades

Not as refined and damaging as Mikau's.

Side B: High Speed Swim

Likely not quite as fast either.

Up B: Waterfall

They would be faster at this one though.

Down B: Blue Shield

About the same.

Final Smash: Zora Army

Not pulling from any scene in particular, I just think it would be cool to see them riding in as an army inside of a tidal wave.

Entrance: They will burst from puddles on the ground.

Taunts: Up, they will launch up and spin around. Side, they will shift slightly to the side with the infamous Zora King sound. Down, they will morph into the old Zora head emerging from the water for a second.

Kirby Hat: Their headtails.

Kart: Swimming fast as if underwater.

Special Move: Getting extra launch on jumps by summoning a waterfall.

Spirit Battle: A horde battle on Zora's Domain.

Victory Screen: A number of them will dance around excitedly.

Losing Screen: They will all be frozen in ice.

Color Swaps: Every notably distinct Zora model besides the noted players.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Rito takes wing.

Character Sheet: Goron

GORON

And here's all the characters that I gave a definitive YES to during my second chance round. They are:

1.       Fierce Deity Link

2.       Kalin

3.       Darbus

4.       Ralis

5.       Gulley

6.       Osfala

7.       Irene

8.       Rosso

9.       Queen Oren

10.   Paya

11.   Rune

12.   Kanan

13.   Talon

14.   Ingo

15.   Gwonam

16.   Tetra’s Crew

17.   Kokiri

18.   Goron

19.   Zora

20.   Rito

21.   Korok

22.   Gerudo

23.   Stalchildren

24.   Ganon Blight

Next up, we have the Gorons, Hyrule's resident Rock/Fire types who live on and in Death Mountain, eating rocks. Originating in Ocarina of Time, they have been a favorite staple to include in just about every single game since. Before now, Darmani basically inherited the standard Goron moveset, while others built theirs on Warriors movesets. Now, Gorons can act as his echo.

Here is their moveset:

Standard B: Giant Punch

Maybe a bit less strong than Darmani's. He is a trained hero after all, while they are general civilians.

Side B: Roll

Naturally.

Up B: Ground Pound

Same.

Down B: Bomb Flower

One of their favorites.

Final Smash: Biggoron

I'd still be down with this. Or Death Mountain's eruption. Either way.

Entrance: They will wake up from sleeping as a rock and sit up.

Taunts: Up, they will dance around happily. Side, they will perform a sumo stance. Down, they will do the "get up, stand up, sit down, go to sleep" routine.

Kirby Hat: Their rocky shells.

Kart: Rolling along as a ball.

Special Move: Leaving a bomb flower behind.

Spirit Battle: A horde battle on Death Mountain.

Victory Screen: They will dance around excitedly in their caves.

Losing Screen: They will all be frozen in ice.

Color Swaps: Every notably distinct Goron model besides the noted players.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Zora makes a splash!

Character Sheet: Prince Ralis

PRINCE RALIS

And here's all the characters that I gave a definitive YES to during my second chance round. They are:

1.       Fierce Deity Link

2.       Kalin

3.       Darbus

4.       Ralis

5.       Gulley

6.       Osfala

7.       Irene

8.       Rosso

9.       Queen Oren

10.   Paya

11.   Rune

12.   Kanan

13.   Talon

14.   Ingo

15.   Gwonam

16.   Tetra’s Crew

17.   Kokiri

18.   Goron

19.   Zora

20.   Rito

21.   Korok

22.   Gerudo

23.   Stalchildren

24.   Ganon Blight

Now, we have Prince Ralis, the main Zora character from Twilight Princess. His mother Rutela could have counted here too, but I went with Ralis of the two. Just like Darbus, he will be an echo of his Ocarina counterpart, making him Ruto's echo.

Here is his moveset:

Ruto's standard will create a whirlpool, her side will have her ride a small wave across the stage, her up will have her dive into a pool and then burst out of it upward into the air, and her down will have her dive into a pool and then pop up in a new location. Her final will be Lord Jabu-Jabu or the big ball of water she races around in.

Standard B: Whirlpool

With the water more Twilight Princess-looking.

Side B: Wave Surf

Probably a little slower than her.

Up B: Breaching Jump

Down B: Pool Travel

Final Smash: Queen Rutela

Instead of the Zora King, it will instead be Queen Rutela appearing behind him, mother and son attacking together.

Entrance: He will surge out of the water and land on the stage.

Taunts: Up, he will look prayerful, as his mother appears behind him. Side, he will attempt to hold his spear straight up. Down, he will cough and look sickly.

Kirby Hat: His funky hat-looking fins.

Kart: A kart made of the crystals around their domain.

Special Move: He can surf on a small wave to get further ahead.

Spirit Battle: On Zora's Domain, with toxic air.

Victory Screen: He will look proud and his mother will appear behind him.

Losing Screen: He will be bedridden and carted away.

Color Swaps: His normal appearance, blue matching Ocarina Zoras, green matching old Zoras, red matching Mipha and Sidon, a pure white variant, a yellow variant, a purple variant, and a black variant.

Thanks for reading! Next up, our sages from Link Between Worlds.

Character Sheet: Darbus

DARBUS

And here's all the characters that I gave a definitive YES to during my second chance round. They are:

1.       Fierce Deity Link

2.       Kalin

3.       Darbus

4.       Ralis

5.       Gulley

6.       Osfala

7.       Irene

8.       Rosso

9.       Queen Oren

10.   Paya

11.   Rune

12.   Kanan

13.   Talon

14.   Ingo

15.   Gwonam

16.   Tetra’s Crew

17.   Kokiri

18.   Goron

19.   Zora

20.   Rito

21.   Korok

22.   Gerudo

23.   Stalchildren

24.   Ganon Blight

Next up, we have Darbus. Now, Mrs. Darbus is the homeroom teacher and theater director of High School Music--What? Oh, right. That's just who I think of every time I hear this character's name. Darbus is actually the main Goron character (not sage, as TP handles sages differently) of Twilight Princess, the chief of the Goron tribe who challenges Link to a wrestling match and then accepts him upon his defeat. He is a natural fit for an echo of fellow Goron chief Darunia.

Here is his moveset:

Standard B: Hammer Smash

Probably with that electrical magnetic effect seen around the mines in his game instead of an Earthquake.

Side B: Fire Hand

With a lot of power behind it.

Up B: Butt Bash

Down B: Flaming Boulder

I would say that if we wanted to vary at all on the moveset, here would be the place to do it, adding in the Sumo Grapple or something instead of the boulder.

Final Smash: Death Mountain

It would work, but if we wanted to, we could switch it out for his corrupted boss fight instead.

Entrance: He will do a sumo stomp

Taunts: Up, he will stand tall and cross his arms. Side, he will do another sumo stomp. Down, he will curl up into rock form.

Kirby Hat: His buzz-cut looking thing.

Kart: A magnetic mining vehicle.

Special Move: He can grapple with anyone who comes close and throw them off the course.

Spirit Battle: On Death Mountain, Omega Form.

Victory Screen: He will sumo stomp again, let out a victory yell, and point at the sky.

Losing Screen: He will fall into his corrupted state again.

Color Swaps: His normal state, a more reddish version, a more greenish version, a more blue version, a whiter version, a black version, a silvery version, and his corrupted version.

Thanks for reading! Next up, the main Zora from Twilight Princess!

3D Zelda Stage Roster

3D ZELDA STAGE ROSTER

And here is our stages for the 3D Zelda games. If this were a real roster from a real game, which stage would you pick to play on first?

Zora's Domain

ZORA'S DOMAIN

While the Water Temples are their own beasts, the Zoras that live around them and the world they live in needs representation of its own. Zora’s Domain has always been a pristine, beautiful location throughout the games, with crisp water features and often a spot for diving, possibly my favorite version is the one that appears in Breath of the Wild.

Regardless, this stage will fall into this sub-roster because I’d rather the stage pull from all of the different renditions of Zora’s domain, with the crystalline platforms of Breath of the Wild, a tall waterfall perfect for diving at one end, and water filling the base.

Temple of Time

TEMPLE OF TIME

If there is one location that could be considered a true representation of Ocarina of Time and Ocarina of Time alone, it would be the Temple of Time, the quiet sanctuary of pure white walls where Link found the Master Sword and was sent seven years into the future.

This stage will purely represent the familiar location, probably set somewhere where the Master Sword’s pedestal and the three sacred gemstones can be clearly seen. Other than that, it will be a basic stage with walk-offs on either side.

Potential theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbJH_ZGLSGo

Snowpeak Ruins

SNOWPEAK RUINS

This one’s probably the least necessary out of all the stages here, but snowy regions are prominent enough across Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild, and several handheld games that I felt it needed some representation as well.

One of my favorite renditions of this theme comes in Twilight Princess, the home of Yeto and Yeta. The stage will be set in the ruins of the dungeon, with slippery surfaces everywhere and Freezards at both ends that will frequently blow freezing air at the fighters.

Palace of Twilight

PALACE OF TWILIGHT

Although Bridge of Eldin is obviously one of the most iconic and recognizable images from Twilight Princess, there is another aspect of the game I feel needs to be represented: the twilight realm encroaching on Hyrule, the home of Midna and Zant and the location of the final major dungeon of the game.

As a stage, I feel it most important to reflect the look and feel of the Twilight Realm, with his foggy brown color pallet and specks of black something floating everywhere. My choice for a specific location would be just outside the Palace of Twilight, on that central platform with smaller moving platforms rising from the ground and transporting you to other side platforms.

Hyrule Castle

HYRULE CASTLE

Hyrule’s central castle, the home of Princess Zelda and the royal family, has always been a staple of the Legend of Zelda, and the original Super Smash Bros. knew that, naturally making the castle its first stage representing the series.

In Smash, the stage is a perfect visual representation of the castle as it appears in Ocarina of Time. If we wanted, we could keep it as is, or we could update it, including features from all other games that featured the castle, adding turrets and ramparts and all manner of other features. Either way, a representation of the castle is a must.

Death Mountain

DEATH MOUNTAIN

One of the most notable features of Hyrule, featuring prominently in almost every major game in the series, is the perpetually active volcanic region. Sometimes known as Eldin Volcano, Death Mountain acts as the home of the Goron race and the location of most lava-themed temples.

This stage will be set high on the cliffs of the volcano, with lava running around the platforms, creating a hazard. One section of the stage will feature a long ramp perfect for Gorons to roll down. Occasionally, the stage will erupt and rocks will fall from the sky.

Bridge of Eldin

BRIDGE OF ELDIN

The game Twilight Princess came out right at the turning point between the Game Cube and the Wii and featured a hyper-realistic art style to contrast with the earlier, more cartoony Wind Waker. One of the most memorable scenes and visuals of the game comes when Link faces down King Bulblin atop a long bridge connecting the Eldin region and Hyrule Field.

This stage has already appeared in the Smash Bros. series starting in Brawl, and for the most part is represented exactly as I would do it, even including representation of Midna’s twilight teleportation mechanic that she uses to move large objects around. Honestly, the only issue is King Bulblin’s presence as a playable fighter now.

3D Zelda Roster

3D ZELDA ROSTER

And here's our 3D roster, covering all characters debuting in Ocarina of Time through Skyward Sword with Hyrule Warriors attached. If this were a real roster from a real game, who ya mainin'?

Twili Midna

TWILI MIDNA

Link and Midna reassemble the mirror, enter the Twilight Realm, and take down Zant, only to learn the true identity of his ancient benefactor, the one and only Ganondorf. They and Zelda take him down in a final climactic battle, his defeat finally restoring Midna to her true form.

As a Twili, Midna is far more human-like than she was before, tall and elegant but still bringing that mischievous nature back with her. She isn’t shown to do much in this form, mostly just interacting with Link and Zelda in the closing cutscenes, but Hyrule Warriors took the time to truly flesh out just what she could do on the battlefield.

As a fighter, Twili Midna will be far more graceful in her fighting style than she was in her imp form, with intense magical attacks backing her up. Her moves will pull straight from those presented in Hyrule Warriors, centering heavily on the Mirror of Twilight itself.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Yeta/Yeto

YETA/YETO

Upon clearing Hyrule of its invading Twilight, Link and Midna make their way to the Mirror Chamber, the only true gateway between their two worlds, only to find that the mirror has been broken into pieces by Zant. They head out again to find the scattered pieces, heading first to a place called Snowpeak, where they encounter a pair of yetis.

These are Yeto and Yeta, largely friendly snow monsters who live together in an old frozen palace, happy and in love. At least, that was until a piece of the Mirror of Twilight landed in their home and slowly started twisting Yeta’s mind to evil, turning her into the final boss of the dungeon.

As fighters, Yeto and Yeta will be color swaps of each other, Yeto being the more active initially, but Yeta bringing a lot to their moveset with her boss battle. They will both be strong and durable, able to survive the harsh conditions of the place they call home.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Agitha

AGITHA

Eventually, Link manages to return to his human form and clear out the twilight covering Hyrule by awakening four spirits, slowly but surely gaining access to more and more of Hyrule. Once he gains access to the town surrounding the castle, he gains the ability to interact with the NPCs there, including one odd little girl with an obsession for bugs.

This is Agitha, the self-proclaimed queen of bugs and your go-to point to complete your bug-collecting sidequest. That’s pretty much all there is to her, and yet somehow she found a slot in Hyrule Warriors, endowing her will legitimate magic over bugs and allowing her to fight with all manner of insects at her disposal.

As a fighter, she will be light and floaty, making good use of the butterflies she rules over. Her moveset will pull entirely from her appearance in Hyrule Warriors, which in turn was inspired by the bugs appearing throughout the game.

Likelihood rating: For sure a Piranha Plant clause.
