Toon Ganondorf almost wasn't his own thing, at least, it's far too close to the line than I like, but Wind Waker's version of the character had a unique moveset and battle mechanic mostly centered around his two twin swords rather than the dark magic of other versions. Add that on top of his distinctly cartoonish design, and he has just enough to stand out. In his major battles, Toon Ganondorf uses his swords to slash, unleashed a multi-strike attack, block, and lunge, while also swooping forward with his big sleeves, punching with his fist, and dodging. Think of him like . . . a Fire Emblem sword-user, but in the good way.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Multi-Strike
He will launch into a volley of strikes with his sword, landing multiple hits in the span of a couple of seconds.
Side B: Lunging Thrust
He will lunge forward with his swords, stabbing with them and taking him a few feet forward.
Up B: Swoop
He will leap into the air and then swoop back down with his giant sleeves.
Down B: Parry
He will put his swords up in an X-formation, blocking oncoming strikes from his opponents.
Final Smash: Puppet Ganon
Helmaroc King probably also works, but I've already got him pinned down for another assignment, so this works just as well. The Puppet will land hard on the stage, its body going everywhere, and then it will start to spin and fling fighters off.
Entrance: He will be standing and looking offstage in mournful contemplation before looking up and turning to his opponents.
Taunts: Up, he will throw back his head and laugh. Side, he will twirl his swords and his sleeves flip around. Down, he will put his hands behind his back and pace for a second.
Thanks for reading! Next up, the more beastly pig version of Ganon, best seen in Twilight Princess.
