First on our chopping block is Young Link, primarily as he appears in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the latter of which this version of the character has practically become synonymous with. The character first became differentiated from normal Link with Ocarina of Time, which incorporated a time travel gimmick that let you play as the two different versions, both of which had certain things they could and could not do.

For starters, Young Link carried a Kokiri sword and Deku shield, the Master Sword and Hylian shield only available as an adult. He carried around a slingshot as well in lieu of a bow and arrow, used bomb flowers without his own bomb bag, and so on. Boomerangs were still a staple, as well as the bombchu item, and in Majora's Mask, he could wear various masks (though many of those deserve their own placement at the moment), used a bunny hood to move faster, created a heartless soldier to hold down switches and stuff, and used the Ocarina to play songs to travel back in time three days, slow time, teleport from place to place, and so on. I'd prefer to make him as distinct as possible if I can.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Slingshot

As a younger kid, he wasn't quite ready for a full bow and arrow in Ocarina of Time, so he used a slingshot instead. I feel this is a natural fit for a projectile move that really nails home the point of the character.

Side B: Bombchu

A pretty standard item for the character, he will place it on the ground and set it loose. The item will then move forward in a straight line until it connects with another fighter and explode.

Up B: Song of Soaring

Link's best method of getting around in Majora's Mask, the standard wing animation will sprout from his back, wrap him up in feathers, and disappear, making him reappear much higher in the air.

Down B: Mask OR Heartless Soldier

If we're including transformation types, the Mask will be here, and he'll be able to shuffle between Deku Scrub, Darmani, and Mikau (technically Darmani and Mikau aren't here yet, but I'll cover that more when I get to Darunia and Ruto), and he will simply switch to their movesets. If we're avoiding that, Heartless Soldier will work better, with him placing down the dummy as an obstacle to take a hit of damage and get in fighters' way for a short time.

Final Smash: Fierce Deity Mask

What else could it be, really? Link will put on the mask and transform into the fierce deity, at which point he will unleash a volley of powerful blows on the nearest enemy (or even move around as the character, if we ever go back to that).

Entrance: He will appear from the Song of Soaring animation

Taunts: Up, he will drink a glass of Lon Lon Milk. Side, Navi will come out and swirl around him. Down, he will put on the Keaton mask and tilt his head to the side for a second.

Thanks for reading! Next up, the Link from Wind Waker, Toon Link!
