Wild Link: sword, shield, sledgehammer, bow and arrows, Sheikah Slate, Magnesis, Cryonis, Bombs, Stasis, paraglider, climb, flurry rush, ancient weapons, champion abilities
Breath of the Wild turned over a new leaf for the Legend of Zelda franchises, inducting the series into the open world genre and giving us a brand-new Link with new abilities unlike any version of Link seen before. The most important of these are his Sheikah Slate runes, including the ability to magnetize and move metal objects, the ability to create blocks of ice, special remote-detonation bombs, and the ability to freeze something in time to allow you to build up damage upon it and move it to your will. Another notable ability includes the abilities granted to him by his friends, the four champions, including the ability to heal himself, a protective shield, a wind gust to launch him high into the air, and the ability to call down a blast of lightning. (Most of those will still apply to the champions in question, but they deserve to be mentioned here).
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Flurry Rush
This will come in three flavors. If you just tap it, Link will slash twice in quick succession. If you hold it for a second, he will fire a powerful arrow. And if you let it hold to its full length, he will launch into a flurry rush.
Side B: Cryonis
He will cast his Cryonis rune, causing an ice block to appear directly in front of him. If an opponent is right there, they will be frozen. If not, it will simply act as an obstacle.
Up B: Revali's Gale
A natural fit here. He will pull out his paraglider and be launched up into the sky, the spirit of Revali circling around him. He will then float down gently.
Down B: Bomb Rune
He will pull out a bomb, switching between his round and square versions with each press. He will then be able to place it and detonate it from far away.
Final Smash: Stasis
The favorite move of speedrunners the world over, he will cast his Stasis rune on the person directly in front of him, trapping them in time, and then pull out an ancient axe and pummeling away at them, building up damage until the rune releases and sends them flying.
Entrance: He will float down on his paraglider.
Taunts: Up, his stamina wheel will appear above his head and fill up to maximum strength. Side, he will study his Sheikah slate for a minute, turning it over and over. Down, he will toss a bunch of food onto a cooking pot and create a meal.
Thanks for reading! Next up, the furry version of Link, Wolf Link!
