Today, things get a little . . . complicated. Gorons are a race introduced in Ocarina of Time who have had a persistent presence in the series ever since, rock creatures that live near Death Mountain that like to roll around or hide as boulders (sort of the Middle-Earth dwarves of Hyrule in some ways). Across the series, there are four major Gorons I would consider deserving of a place on the roster: Darunia, the sage from Ocarina; Darmani, the fallen hero from Majora's Mask; Daruk, the champion of Breath of the Wild; and his descendant Yunobo. Now, looking forward, I already know full well that Darunia, Daruk, and Yunobo will all have their own distinct movesets from the Hyrule Warriors games, leaving Darmani open to take on the "regular game" moveset we're making here today. However, as we haven't covered Hyrule Warriors yet, I don't want to get ahead of myself. So, acting as if I don't have foreknowledge, and as if only the 3D games exist, my gut instinct would be to give the moveset to Darunia, with Daruk as an echo or semi-clone, as they are the more prominent of the four. So . . . that's what we're going to do. This logic will be applied with the other upcoming species reps as well.
So, just pulling from the standard Zelda games, we have seen Gorons roll around like a boulder, curl up for defense, display impressive strength, grow bomb flowers, use a hammer, throw a giant punch, ground pound, play the drums, throw a powder keg, and sumo wrestle. In Breath of the Wild, Daruk and Yunobo can use a magical shield as well and fire themselves from cannon. Oh, most certainly enough to go on.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Giant Punch
Darunia will wind up a massive punch hard enough to KO an opponent if it hits at just the right time.
Side B: Roll
I think we all saw this coming. Darunia will roll up into a ball and race across the stage, similar of course to Yoshi's egg roll, Jigglypuff's rollout, or Sonic's sonic dash, but probably heavily inspired by Darmani's particular take on it.
Up B: Ground Pound
Darunia will jump into the air, roll into a ball, slam into the ground, and boost himself up even higher than before.
Down B: Bomb Flower
Darunia will pluck a bomb flower from the ground and toss it forward to explode. Pretty standard explosive move.
Final Smash: Biggoron
Probably the best for a more basic Goron moveset. Biggoron will appear in the background and begin blowing air much like he would in Majora's Mask, creating a strong wind to blow players off the stage. Another possibility is possibly just straight up Death Mountain erupting.
Entrance: He will wake up from sleeping as a rock and sit up.
Taunts: Up, he will perform his happy dance (you know the one). Side, he will pull out a rock and start chomping on it. Down, he will roll up into a rock as if to sleep.
Thanks for reading! Next, his current semi-clone, Daruk.
