Character Sheet: Gorea

GOREA

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Next up, let's cover Gorea, the main villain of Metroid Prime Hunters. Gorea is a powerful being who attempted to conquer the Alimbics thousands of years before and ended up sealed away inside another dimension by them. Millenia later, he manages to send out a telepathic message suggesting that an Ultimate Power was hidden in the Alimbic Cluster in order to draw in bounty hunters to break his seal.

Gorea can attack with his tentacles and hover upside down, he can drain his enemies of their power, which then gives him access to their abilities. He can fire lasers and energy balls and can warp around to teleport, and he has a final form that he transforms into.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Power Drain

This is a Kirby-style move, just with him taking on the most prominent color of his victims, and then being able to use their standard B.

Side B: Laser

He will fire high-powered beams of light from his big shoulder things at his opponents.

Up B: Warp

He can warp out of existence and then reappear in a new location.

Down B: Light Tentacles

He will lash out with his tentacles, slapping opponents around a bit.

Final Smash: Seal Sphere

The Seal Sphere the Alimbics used to seal him away will appear, drawing in Gorea's opponents and trapping them in another dimension.

Entrance: He will emerge from the Seal Sphere.

Taunts: Up, he will glow and light will emanate from his head. Side, his tentacle will lash out and wiggle around. Down, the message will be heard.

Kirby Hat: His glowing head thing floating above Kirby's head.

Kart: Based on the Oubliette.

Special Move: He will shoot a tentacle at another player and steal their items if it connects.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Celestial Archives, with the six hunters as your allies.

Victory Screen: He will completely break free and his light will spread across the universe.

Losing Screen: His death animation will play out.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, and then the colors of each of the seven hunters from the game.

Thanks for reading! Next up . . . wait, did you just see something? I could have sworn I--

Character Sheet: Emperor Ing

EMPEROR ING

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Today, let's cover Emperor Ing, the leader of the Ing, the beings that inhabit Dark Aether who are at constant war with the Luminoth. Dark Samus forged an alliance with this race, bringing her to her first ever true standoff with Samus herself.

During Samus's final battle with this creature, the emperor could use its tentacles to lash at her, jump into the air really high, and use light and darkness in its attacks, including light beams and darkness waves, as well as blasts and orbs.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Light Beam

One move for light, one move for dark. The Light Beam will go here, and it will blast a beam of light as a projectile at its opponent.

Side B: Tentacle Whip

It will lash out with its tentacle and strike opponents with it.

Up B: Leap

It will leap high into the air and come back down hard.

Down B: Dark Wave

Here is the move for darkness. It will slash and send a wave of darkness forward across the stage.

Final Smash: Dark Aether

Dark Aether will spread across the stage, smothering all light and choking all fighters with its toxic atmosphere.

Entrance: It will emerge from a Dark Aether portal.

Taunts: Up, it will swing around its head tentacle. Side, it will skitter back and forth, looking around. Down, it will let off a burst of darkness around itself.

Kirby Hat: Its head tentacle.

Kart: Based on a Dark Splinter.

Special Move: It will create a cloud of Dark Aether that will blind opponents and choke them out with its atmosphere.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Planet Aether (stuck on the Dark version)

Victory Screen: We will see a wide shot of the Planet Aether becoming full darkness.

Losing Screen: It will collapse in its death animation as all darkness disappears.

Color Swaps: Its normal colors, a dark red color, a dark blue color, a dark green color, a purple color, a black-and-gold color, a black-and-white color, and a Light Aether-version of it.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we cover the last of our "main bosses."

Character Sheet: Metroid Prime

METROID PRIME

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Today, we will cover the Metroid Prime, most of whose story we already covered with Dark Samus, being a Metroid mutated by the volatile chemical Phazon by Space Pirates on Tallon IV, before it was fought and apparently killed by Samus and subsequently took on her shape. So this is basically Dark Samus before she became Dark Samus.

The fight has different phases, but the bulk of it is spent in a giant crab-like form, so that will primarily be the form she takes as the Metroid Prime. She can barrel forward at high speed, hang from the ceiling, shoot energy beams, lunge forward, burrow underground, drop bombs from her underbelly, shoot balls of fire and spit green fire, and turn invisible. That should be more than enough for us.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Green Fire

Just to differentiate from all the laser blasts, let's give her a fire blast to work with instead.

Side B: Charge

I would like a slightly more unique one, but she does charge a lot in this form, so let's just do that. She could also lunge forward too.

Up B: Ceiling Cling

She will launch herself high into the air, clinging onto any platform above her if one happens to exist.

Down B: Burrow

Invisibility or the Bombs could work here too, but I'm going with the burrowing. Possibly could do the whole Bugs Bunny Multiversus thing too while we're at it.

Final Smash: Final Form

She will transform into her final form and start using attacks from that end of the battle, lashing out with her tentacles and breathing fire.

Entrance: She will start out on the ceiling and drop down.

Taunts: Up, she will rear up on her back legs and roar. Side, she will spread her legs and look around. Down, she will act protective over a batch of phazon.

Kirby Hat: He'll be wearing the top of her head like a hat.

Kart: Based on her base form, but with wheels.

Special Move: She will extend her legs and barrel forward at high speed.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Frigate Orpheon.

Victory Screen: She will hatch and emerge as her final form.

Losing Screen: Her death animation will play out.

Color Swaps: All will be black on the shell, but with different glows at the edges. These will be red, blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, white, and gold.

Thanks for reading! Next up, another more beastly final battle.

Character Sheet: Meta Ridley

META RIDLEY

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Next up, we have Ridley's distinctive appearance throughout all of the Metroid Prime series, rebuilt with cyborg enhancements after being heavily wounded in his battle with Samus in the first game. Somehow, he grew the rest of his body back for Super Metroid, but let's not question that part, shall we? He appears throughout the first game as, more or less, the main villain behind the Tallon IV operation, and then appears at the beginning of Corruption, leading the Space Pirates in their epic battle against the Federation on Norion.

In this form, he could fly as usual, fire laser beams and drop bombs, slam on the ground, swipe with his claws, dash forward, spit fireballs, use his wings as a shield, fire a laser blast and an explosive blast, bite, breathe fire, and spin his tail around really fast. Similar in many ways to his regular appearance, but souped up just a bit with technology.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Laser Blast

While the fire breath is very much his normal form's forte, we will be going with a laser blast for this form just to differentiate it.

Side B: Tail Spin

He will lash out with his long metallic tail and sweep it rapidly around himself, tripping up anyone nearby.

Up B: Hyper Wings

He will shoot straight up into the air, using his cybernetic wings to fly higher and faster than his normal form would. He would also have super armor during the ascent.

Down B: Bombard

He would raise up into the air and drop bombs directly below him that would detonate on impact.

Final Smash: High Speed Chase

I based this one on the chase battle from Brawl, since its so iconic, and it would match but also be distinct from Ridley's Final. The opponent would land on Samus's ship as it races through a shaft, with Meta Ridley racing in behind it and slashing the ship out of the air.

Entrance: He will slam down hard on the ground from above.

Taunts: Up, he will raise up and flap his cybernetic wings. Side, he will get down and roar loudly. Down, he will wrap himself in his wings for a second.

Kirby Hat: Like Ridley's but with the cyborg parts.

Kart: Based on a Space Pirate ship from Corruption, or flying.

Special Move: He will drop bombs from beneath him.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Frigate Orpheon.

Victory Screen: He will roar as Space Pirates move forward with guns loaded.

Losing Screen: His body will start to explode and he will fall away down a long shaft.

Color Swaps: All of the Ridley colors, but with contrasting colors on the cyborg parts.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Dark Samus is back . . . kinda.

Character Sheet: Dark Samus

DARK SAMUS

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

And now, we come to the (technically) titular character of the Metroid Prime series, and the primary antagonist overall. Dark Samus began life as the Metroid Prime, a Metroid mutated by Phazon on the planet Tallon IV, until she was defeated by Samus and ended up scanning and copying her power suit. Dark Samus then spent the next two games hounding Samus, infecting three of her friends and using them to spread Phazon throughout the galaxy.

Although an echo fighter was a perfectly reasonable move on Smash's part, Dark Samus's battles across the series are diverse and varied in the abilities she shows off. First, she has lasers, beams and waves of dark energy, the ability to surge forward at high speed, shields, the ability to disappear and turn invisible, the morph ball, hyperbeam, and spray beam abilities, the ability to float, energy orbs she can use as projectiles, blasts and explosions of phazon, a jetpack, tentacles and pillars that sprout out of the ground, and the ability to warp, absorb energy, and duplicate herself. The real trouble here is picking just four.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Phazon Blast

She will shoot a blast of Phazon at her opponents, similar to Samus's own arm cannon. The biggest difference though is that when it hits, it will start to make the player sluggish and wear down their health for a short time.

Side B: Phazon Tentacles

Dark Samus will raise her arms and glowing blue tentacles will burst from the ground around her, throwing anyone nearby upward.

Up B: Warp

Dark Samus will warp and teleport to a new location on stage.

Down B: Duplication

Dark Samus will split herself into three, which will leap outward and then rush back together, damaging any in their way when they do so.

Final Smash: Phazon Meteor

One of the Phazon Meteors from Corruption will come crashing onto the stage, demolishing everything in its path.

Entrance: Dark Samus will rise from a blob of Phazon.

Taunts: Up, she will float into the air and glow with Phazon. Side, she will clench her fist and then swipe sideways. Down, she will briefly take on her X-ray-looking appearance.

Kirby Hat: Her helmet.

Kart: Based on a dark version of Samus's ship.

Special Move: She will leave a trail of Phazon behind her that will spread across the track and slow players down.

Spirit Battle: One-on-one on Phaaze.

Victory Screen: Phazon will spread across the world with Dark Samus floating in the center of it.

Losing Screen: Dark Samus will start to break down and disappear, losing her form.

Color Swaps: Her normal colors, an offbrand Samus color, a pink color, a green color, a white color, a gold color, a black color more in line with the dark creatures of Planet Aether, and her X-ray-looking form.

Thanks for reading! Our old friend Ridley, back for a second helping.

Character Sheet: Aurora Unit

AURORA UNIT

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Today, let's finish up our ally characters with the Aurora Units, giant brain/AI things that strategize for the Federation and give Samus the information she needs. Sort of like Adam before Adam, and also maybe an evolution of the Mother Brain concept. The main reason they got a slot is the Aurora Unit on Phaaze that ended up being corrupted and acting as a boss battle.

Aurora Unit 313, and by logical extension, every other Aurora Unit, had tentacles that it could attack with, one large laser it could shoot, four smaller lasers to shoot, the ability to float, to spin rapidly, and laser orbs that it could throw out during the course of its boss battle.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Phazon Beam

It will shoot a single powerful beam of purple energy from its eye forward.

Side B: Tentacle Throw

It will lash out with its tentacles, snagging anything within reach (player or item), and toss them high into the air.

Up B: Rapid Spin

It will spin rapidly with its tentacles out, functioning in a similar way to a screw attack.

Down B: Turrets

It will latch itself down to the ground for a second, causing four turrets to pop up and fire in four directions.

Final Smash: The Destruction of Phaaze

It will do as it does when defeated, instigating a chain reaction that runs through the entire planet of Phaaze in a cutscene, causing it to explode and send everyone flying.

Entrance: It will start out attached to a Federation console.

Taunts: Up, it will raise itself up and over its opponents, studying them curiously. Side, it will look over readouts of its strategy. Down, it will power down and go to sleep.

Kirby Hat: Their outer shell.

Kart: Based on a Federation Ship.

Special Move: They will be able to create four turrets around themselves, that will shoot at anything that comes near.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Phaaze.

Victory Screen: Phaaze will explode and the AU and several soldiers will cheer.

Losing Screen: The thing will spark and fall apart as the planet starts to explode.

Color Swaps: Their normal color, a color scheme based on Norion, Bryyo, Elysia, the GFS Valhalla, and Phaaze, and color schemes based on Samus and Dark Samus.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we cover the main villain of the Metroid Prime series!

Character Sheet: U-Mos

U-MOS

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Moving on from the Hunters, we now come to the Luminoth species from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, primarily U-Mos as the last survivor, but also the species as a whole, who appear as spirits here and there to help Samus restore their world and wipe out the Dark Aether consuming it.

The most prominent aspect of Metroid Prime 2 is the light and dark motifs, with the Luminoths representing the light, and thus making them a good pick to represent everything to do with Light Aether. This includes Light Armor, the Light Beam, the ability to travel through beams of light, the slow-moving but powerful Sunburst, and the power of the light temples activating to drive away the Dark Aether.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Light Beam

U-Mos will fire the light beam, which will function just as it does when used by Samus.

Side B: Beam Travel

A bright beam of light will appear before U-Mos, and he will travel rapidly along it.

Up B: Luminoth Flotation

His wings will flutter, causing him to float up into the air.

Down B: Sunburst

He will charge up and shoot a sunburst, which will move forward slowly as a projectile, before detonating after a short time.

Final Smash: Temples of Light

We will have a cutscene of all Luminoth temples lighting up, burning away the darkness and all of U-Mos's opponents.

Entrance: He will appear from a beam of light.

Taunts: Up, he will float with a beacon of light before him. Side, he will put his hands together and look mournful. Down, he will cover his face and cower away from the darkness.

Kirby Hat: His face and wings.

Kart: Based on a Light Beacon.

Special Move: He will be able to move at high speeds through a lighted area.

Spirit Battle: A horde battle on Planet Aether, stuck on the light side of the stage.

Victory Screen: Spreading his arms as the beacon lights up.

Losing Screen: Darkness consuming him and the world.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, a more greenish color, a reddish color, a blue color, a white color, a black color, a ghost version, and a Dark Luminoth version.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we have the Aurora Units that help out in Corruption.

Character Sheet: Weavel

WEAVEL

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Honestly, I'm surprised the Metroid series doesn't utilize this guy more. A space pirate wounded in battle with Samus, rebuilt as a cyborg bounty hunter and now seeking revenge against her? That just feels like prime storytelling for at least a recurring miniboss. But either way, Weavel is the last of our six rival bounty hunters, and another firmly on the evil side.

Weavel wields a weapon called the Battlehammer that fires powerful mortar shots, and basically transforms into a tank called the Half-Turret which can fire shots from its cannon. He also has a scythe on his arm that he can attack with, and carries a smaller pistol weapon that he fires during a cutscene.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Battlehammer

He will fire the Battlehammer, which will hit with heavy damage.

Side B: Blade Slash

He will dash forward and slice with his arm blade.

Up B: Aerotrooper

Unfortunately lacking in directly aerial moves, we can at least extrapolate a little from his backstory and give him an Aerotrooper jetpack.

Down B: Half-Turret

He will transform into his tank form, allowing him to drive around with additional armor while firing shots around him.

Final Smash: Full Turret

Expanding on the Half-Turret, he will transform into his tank form, and other Space Pirate tanks will appear behind him and start firing on the stage.

Entrance: He will start the battle with the Hunters' starting animation.

Taunts: Up, he will raise his scythe into the air. Side, he will hold his side and look vengeful. Down, he will shift into the Half-Turret and back.

Kirby Hat: His mask.

Kart: Based on the Half-Turret.

Special Move: He will be able to fire mortar shells from his turret.

Spirit Battle: On Celestial Archives, with Space Pirates as backup.

Victory Screen: His victory pose from Hunters.

Losing Screen: His defeat animation from Hunters.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, a color scheme based on the green pirates, red pirates, blue pirates, and gold pirates, a purple scheme based on Ridley, a black scheme, and a white scheme.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we start off next week with a small assortment of ally characters.

Character Sheet: Kanden

KANDEN

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Next up, we have another more or less on the evil end of things. Kanden is a super-soldier and the result of biological engineering by his people. He ended up breaking out and going rogue, seeking the ultimate power in order to make himself even stronger. So, he's basically Mewtwo, or Shadow the Hedgehog, or Rampage from Beast Wars, or . . . actually, there's quite a few characters with similar backstories. If any reference was intentional, I would guess Mewtwo, but I assume it's common enough just to be a repeated trope.

Kanden is also an electric-type, but also a bug-type. He wields the Volt Driver as his main weapon, and can transform into a small insectoid form called the Stinglarva. He can also protect himself with a shield, and his Stinglarva form can leave its tail behind as a bomb.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Volt Driver

He will fire his Volt Driver as a projectile, which will shock anyone it hits.

Side B: Stinglarva

He will transform into the Stinglarva in order to crawl under attacks and escape damage.

Up B: Larva Bomb

He will transform into a Stinglarva and eject his tail, propelling him upward. The tail will then move toward the nearest player and explode after a few seconds.

Down B: Electric Shield

He will shield himself with electricity for a few seconds.

Final Smash: Laboratory Breakout

He will slam into an opponent, triggering a cutscene that places the fighter in the lab he was created in, on the day of his breakout, with similar imagery as Hunters' opening cutscenes for him.

Entrance: He will start the battle with the Hunters' starting animation.

Taunts: Up, he will rise into the air and lightning crackles around him. Side, he will hold out the Volt Driver and charge a shot. Down, he will turn into a Stinglarva and circle once.

Kirby Hat: His green singular eye thing on his forehead.

Kart: Based on a Stinglarva.

Special Move: He will be able to drop a larva bomb that will home in on the nearest racer behind him.

Spirit Battle: On Celestial Archives, with an electrified floor.

Victory Screen: His victory pose from Hunters.

Losing Screen: His defeat animation from Hunters.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, a red color, a blue color, a purple color, a yellow color, pink color, a black color, a silver color.

Thanks for reading! Next up, the final hunter with the biggest grudge against Samus herself.

Character Sheet: Trace

TRACE

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Next up, we have probably the most blatantly evil of the six rivals: Trace. Trace comes from a planet of invaders, undergoing a coming-of-age ritual that involves him finding a new planet for his people to attack and conquer. He begins seeking the ultimate power basically because it will be just as good as a new planet.

Trace is the sniper of the group, and wields a sniper-rifle-style weapon called the Imperialist. He can transform into a three-legged form called the Triskelion. While in this form, he can jump and strike, and while immobile, he can turn himself invisible.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Imperialist

He will fire his weapon, which will have a longer range than most of his rivals.

Side B: Triskelion

He will transform into his Triskelion form and skitter forward at high speeds.

Up B: Jump Strike

He will leap into the air and slice forward, doing damage while gaining some air.

Down B: Cloak

He will turn invisible. This cloak will only last as long as he is not moving.

Final Smash: Kriken Invasion

He will summon in his people's fleet, deeming the stage as his chosen planet for them to invade. Krikens like him will descend onto the stage and start attacking everything in sight. (Also, side note: before my Invader Zim jokes were mostly just jokes, but now I notice Kriken is very similar to Zim's species Irken, and I have to assume it is very much an intended reference).

Entrance: He will start the battle with the Hunters' starting animation.

Taunts: Up, he will raise an arm into the air as if to proclaim glory to the Kriken Empire. Side, he will look around and slink backwards a little. Down, he will crouch as if getting ready to snipe. (None of these will be voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz, but it would be funny if they were).

Kirby Hat: His little spiky head thing.

Kart: Based on the Triskelion.

Special Move: He will be able to turn invisible for a short time.

Spirit Battle: On Celestial Archives.

Victory Screen: His victory pose from Hunters.

Losing Screen: His defeat animation from Hunters.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, a green color, a blue color, a magenta color, a black fiery color, a gold color, a silver color, a green-headed and purple-bodied color.

Character Sheet: Spire

SPIRE

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Next up, we have Spire, a big rock/lava golem creature who is the last of his kind and is seeking the Ultimate Power in order to learn what happened to them all. So, right up there with Noxus on the good end of the alignment chart (unless he then uses it to seek revenge on those responsible, I suppose, but then, it would be against someone responsible for a genocide, so . . .).

As the Rock/Fire-type in the group, his weapon is the Magmaul, which fires molten lava at his opponents, while his transformation is called the Dialanche, a giant boulder that rolls around Goron-style. He can also pummel his opponents with his big volcanic arms, and create shockwaves on the ground.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Magmaul

He will fire a blast of lava forward, dealing heavy burn damage on his opponents.

Side B: Dialanche

He will curl up into his boulder form and roll around the stage, the way a Goron or Yoshi's Egg would.

Up B: Shockwave

He will jump up into the air and pound the ground, letting off a powerful shockwave around him.

Down B: Pummel

He will pull back his powerful arms and start pummeling anyone directly in front of him.

Final Smash: Volcanic Eruption

He will curl into the Dialanche, raise into the air and pound the ground, causing a volcanic plume to burst from the stage, dealing heavy burn damage to everyone.

Entrance: He will start the battle with the Hunters' starting animation.

Taunts: Up, he will raise his fist into the air in victory. Side, he will grasp his weapon and look thoughtful and lonely. Down, he will curl into the Dialanche and just sit there for a second.

Kirby Hat: His lava spikes.

Kart: Based on the Dialanche.

Special Move: He will transform into the Dialanche and go rolling across the stage.

Spirit Battle: On Celestial Archives, with a lava floor.

Victory Screen: His victory pose from Hunters.

Losing Screen: His defeat animation from Hunters.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, a bluish color, a yellow color, a green color, a black coal-like color, a purple color, a metallic silvery color, a white-and-black color.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Invader Zim's coming early this year.

SYLUX

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Today, let's cover the most popular of the six rival hunters from Metroid Prime Hunters, Sylux. Sylux is the wild card of the group, with little being known about him except that he hates the Federation and is seeking to overthrow them. Why? No one yet knows. He has since appeared in Federation Force, stealing a Metroid from the Federation in the background of one mission, and his ship appeared to pursue Samus at the end of Corruption, both suggesting that he is the villain of Metroid Prime 4.

Sylux is the Electric-type Pokemon of the ground, wielding a weapon called the Shock Coil as a projectile weapon, and leaving electric bombs and tripwires all over the place as traps for Samus. He can also transform into a little box with an electric orb inside of it called the Lockjaw as his "Morph Ball" transformation. Another unique aspect of the character is his ship, the Delano 7, which he can call in to perform an airstrike on the fight below.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Shock Coil

He will use his weapon to fire an electric blast at his opponents.

Side B: Lockjaw

He will transform into the Lockjaw and drive around for a little while at much higher speed.

Up B: Delano Takeoff

His ship will appear beneath him and carry him up for a little while.

Down B: Electric Bomb

He will roll electric bombs along the ground that will explode and stun anyone caught in their vicinity. His tripwire could work here too.

Final Smash: Delano 7

He will call in his ship that will hover above the stage and fire its cannons down onto the fighters below.

Entrance: He will start the battle with the Hunters' starting animation.

Taunts: Up, he will hold up a Federation helmet and crush it. Side, he will hold out his shock coil as electricity crackles along it. Down, he will clutch a containment unit holding a Metroid for a second and look around.

Kirby Hat: His helmet.

Kart: Based on the Lockjaw.

Special Move: He can call in his ship to bombard the stage.

Spirit Battle: On Celestial Archives, with an electrified floor.

Victory Screen: His victory pose from Hunters.

Losing Screen: His defeat animation from Hunters.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, one with red lights, one with blue lights, one with yellow lights, a black skin with white lights, a black skin with gold lights, a silver skin, a gold skin.

Thanks for reading! Next up, the most/second most genuinely heroic of the six rivals.

Character Sheet: Noxus

NOXUS

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

This week, let's cover the six rival bounty hunters going up against Samus in Metroid Prime Hunters. First is Noxus, an ice alien similar to Rundas and an overzealous law enforcement officer seeking the ultimate power in order to keep it out of the hands of others with wicked intentions. So, after Samus, arguably the most "good"/least dangerous to get ahold of it. (Assuming he doesn't start using it in a totalitarian manner).

Noxus: Judicator, Vhoscythe, shield of ice, arm attack

Like all hunters in the game, Noxus has a signature weapon and some form of transformation that lets him get through tight spaces like the Morph Ball. His weapon is called the Judicator, which shoots an icy blast that freezes opponents. His transformation is called the Vhoscythe, which basically lets him curl up into a spinning top shape. He can extend his arm during this to attack, and he can also protect himself with a shield of ice.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Judicator

He will fire his Judicator weapon and freeze an opponent solid.

Side B: Vhoscythe Arm

He will spin forward into his Vhoscythe form, extending his arm out and striking an opponent hard.

Up B: Vhoscythe Spin

He will spin rapidly into his Vhoscythe form, the spin taking him up into the air a little.

Down B: Ice Shield

He will protect himself with an ice shield for a moment.

Final Smash: Final Judgment

This one more expands on his role and intention. Basically he will fire his Judicator, freezing an opponent in ice and triggering a cutscene where he pronounces judgment upon the opponent and the ice shatters.

Entrance: He will start the battle with the Hunters' starting animation.

Taunts: Up, he will raise the Judicator into the air and pump it. Side, he will show his people's badge of authority. Down, he will spin as the Vhoscythe for a second.

Kirby Hat: The top of his head.

Kart: Based on the Vhoscythe.

Special Move: He will start spinning really fast, and dealing damage to those in the nearby area.

Spirit Battle: On Celestial Archives, with an icy floor.

Victory Screen: His victory pose from Hunters.

Losing Screen: His defeat animation from Hunters.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, a lighter blue color, a red color, a green color, a yellow color, a black color, a pink color, and a Rundas-based color scheme.

Thanks for reading! Next up, the most popular of the six hunters.

Character Sheet: Gandrayda

GANDRAYDA

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Today, we have the third bounty hunter from Corruption, the bounty hunter Gandrayda, known for pulling pranks with her shapeshifting abilities before being corrupted, and then posing as a friendly scientist who just happens to tag along with Samus for a while after being corrupted. As she is the type to take other's shapes, she will function like Ditto and Doopliss, having just a bare bones moveset (probably using her throwing discs) with a transformation move that will turn her into a copy of one of her opponents.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Transformation

She will transform into her nearest opponent and copy their abilities. All moves from here would be mimics of other fighters' moves.

Final Smash: Betrayal

She would strike one of her opponents, leading to a cutscene where she appears behind them, transforms back into herself, and stabs them in the back.

Entrance: She will appear as her scientist form before becoming herself.

Taunts: All will be repeats of her mimic's taunts, but she will briefly turn into herself as they are being performed.

Kirby Hat: Her pink glowy-ness.

Kart: Basically her, but morphed into a car shape.

Special Move: She can transform into one of her opponents, with matching stats.

Spirit Battle: On Norion, but she can transform into more than just her opponent.

Victory Screen: She will transform back into herself and making a joking remark about how she fooled you.

Losing Screen: She will slump to the ground and her body will dissipate into Phazon.

Color Swaps: Her normal coloring, a reddish color, a blue color, a green color, a yellowish-gold color, a silvery color, a cyan color, and a black color.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we begin the rivals of Metroid Prime Hunters, which should last us the full week.

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Next up, we have the second of the three tragic bounty hunters of Corruption. This time it is Ghor, the snarky android who controls various mechs in his battles. Much like Rundas and Gandrayda, he too was corrupted by Phazon and had to be put down by Samus.

While in battle, Ghor pilots a hunter mech strong enough to pick up and throw an entire ship. It comes equipped with a blade, lasers, a hyper beam, and a shield, and he can leap high, spin, and charge with it. Pretty basic, but more than enough for our purposes.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Hyper Beam

He will fire his hyper beam forward as a ranged projectile.

Side B: Bladed Charge

He will charge forward at high speed and slash with his mech's blade.

Up B: Spinning Leap

He will send his mech leaping high into the air with its powerful legs, spinning its arms around as it does so.

Down B: Shield

He will project a shield around his mech to protect it from damage.

Final Smash: Ship-to-Ship Combat

He will grab an entire Space Pirate ATC, spin it around, and throw it toward the other players, instantly KOing anyone it hits.

Entrance: He will climb into his mech and activate it.

Taunts: Up, he will raise the mech's arm into the air. Side, he will make an offhand comment. Down, he will let the mech chill for a second.

Kirby Hat: His robotic helmet.

Kart: His mech but as a vehicle.

Special Move: He will summon a batch of remote mechanoids to drive along the track and cause trouble.

Spirit Battle: On Norion, with Mechanoid horde backing him up.

Victory Screen: He will take up the pose he and the other bounty hunters did after the Space Pirate battle.

Losing Screen: He will slump to the ground and his body will dissipate into Phazon.

Color Swaps: His normal coloring, a Samus-themed color, a Rundas-themed color, a Gandrayda-themed color, a green army color, a Federation-themed color, a Dark Samus-themed color, a gold color.

Thanks for reading! Next up, a shapeshifter. Those are always nice and easy.

Character Sheet: Rundas

RUNDAS

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Today, we will cover the three tragic bounty hunters of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, starting with Rundas. Rundas is probably the most friendly with Samus out of the three, being a strong, silent type who helps her out during her fight with Meta Ridley. Like the others, he was corrupted by Dark Samus's phazon and Samus had to put him down.

Rundas's powers are entirely built around ice, similar to Noxus from Hunters, though they are supposedly from different species. He can shoot ice, skate around on ice Frozone-style, shoot out lines of ice around him, shield himself with ice, shoot up spikes of ice from the ground, create blocks of ice to send forward, and disappear into and emerge from ice.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Ice Beam

He will shoot a beam of ice straight forward as a projectile, freezing anyone it contacts.

Side B: Ice Spikes

He will strike the ground and cause large spikes of ice to shoot up in a line before him, stabbing anyone it connects with.

Up B: Ice Skate

He will shoot ice down at his feet and use that to create a ramp up into the air that he will skate across.

Down B: Ice Block

He will create a block of ice to shield himself from attack. Hitting the command again will cause him to hit the block and send it sliding forward.

Final Smash: Frozen World

This will be based on the number he did on the base at Norion after he was corrupted. Basically, he will freeze the entire stage and everyone on it, each frozen person racking up damage while they are stuck that way.

Entrance: He will rise from a patch of ice.

Taunts: Up, he will raise his arm and wave to his opponents. Side, he will check his weapon and set off a small blast of ice power. Down, he will seem to twitch and glow from Phazon poisoning.

Kirby Hat: The top of his head.

Kart: A large vehicle made of ice.

Special Move: He will be able to create a ramp of ice under himself that will allow him to cross rough terrain.

Spirit Battle: On Norion, with an icy floor.

Victory Screen: He will take up the pose he and the other bounty hunters did after the Space Pirate battle.

Losing Screen: He will slump to the ground and his body will dissipate into Phazon.

Color Swaps: His normal coloring, a more purple color, a red color, a green color, a yellow color, an orange color, a white color, a gold color.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Samus's robotic friend from Corruption.

Character Sheet: Federation Mech

FEDERATION MECH

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Today, let's begin with the Federation Mechs, the large robot suits piloted by Space Marines and featured as the central characters of Metroid Prime: Federation Force. Much like the Super Team of the Mario Strikers series, the Mech will also have a large orb that it will kick around with its various moves in tandem with its regular playstyle.

On top of the Blast Ball, which can shock anyone that touches it normally, the Mech carries guns, missiles, beams including freeze beams, tractor beams, and slow beams, a shield, proximity bombs, rocket boosters, and combat drones. It can also use a repair capsule to restore its own health, and uses ziplines at various points in various missions.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Shock Shot/Blast Ball

Basically the Mech will shoot forward with a stunning blast. If the blast ball is in the player's general vicinity, the shot will be directed straight at said ball and send it flying forward at high speed. If not, it will be a regular laser shot.

Side B: Tractor Beam

This shot will do the reverse and pull the Blast Ball back toward the player from wherever it happens to be on stage. If it's fallen off the stage and hasn't reappeared, it will pull in the nearest player.

Up B: Booster

The Mech will use a booster to launch itself up into the air a short distance.

Down B: Proximity Bomb

The mech will be able to lay this down anywhere on stage, and it will explode whenever an enemy or the Blast Ball gets too close. When the Blast Ball detonates it, it will send the Blast Ball flying as a projectile.

Final Smash: Blast Ball Finale

Three Mechs will appear in a cutscene, kicking the ball between each other for a minute before the main one jumps into the air, delivers a final blast, and sends it flying toward the goal, where the move's target stands.

Entrance: A chibi space marine will climb into the mech and activate it.

Taunts: Up, the chibi marine will climb out and sit on top of the mech proudly. Side, the mech will adjust its weapon. Down, the mech will kick the Blast Ball and get a little shock. Alex Miles would be a solid secret taunt for the Blast Ball Arena stage.

Kirby Hat: The mech's helmet

Kart: Basically, the chibi marine inside of a car version of the mech.

Special Move: The mech would produce the Blast Ball and send it rolling around the stage to shock anyone it passes.

Spirit Battle: three-on-three, with two allies for the player, on Blast Ball Arena.

Victory Screen: The standard mission complete screen from the game.

Losing Screen: The mech breaking down and the marine inside ejecting themselves from it.

Color Swaps: The blue-visored mission mech, the red one, the green one, the yellow one, the full-body-colored purple Blast Ball mech, the gold one, a suit based on Dark Samus, and a suit based on Samus.

Thanks for reading! Next up, one of Samus's friends from Corruption.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force

METROID PRIME: FEDERATION FORCE

Hey, remember that time when there was a massive drought of Metroid games, 3D or 2D, and everyone was yearning for a Metroid Prime 4 or some new 2D platformer, and then a brand new game was announced and it turned out to be a Rocket League knockoff starring generic Space Marines in mech suits with barely any Samus in it. It's . . . not hard to understand the general fan distaste toward the game on principle alone.

That said, the Rocket League portion is more of a multiplayer side mode with a demo focused on it that released prior, while the actual story mode is more mission-based, and it's . . . fine. You play as a chibi Space Marine piloting a mech to carry out various missions, the mech equipped with guns, missiles, a repair capsule, a booster, ziplines, an extractor, combat drones, freeze beams, tractor beams, a shock shot, proximity bombs, a slow beam, and a shield. The Blast Ball mode also features said mech using these features to knock around a large ball into their opponents' goals.

Alex Miles is your commanding officer laying out your missions, and Samus Aran appears toward the end, having been captured by Space Pirates who took control of her suit and forced her to act as your final boss, rolling around in her Morph Ball form and leaving bombs behind.

The Space Pirates are your main villain, with an AI called Master Brain controlling the shield that protects their ship. You must destroy this to beat the game. Other enemies and bosses include Ice Hoppers and Ice Titans, Collosun, Sawken, Rohkor, Cyranon, and Mainframe, all of which are pretty basic and just perform certain functions to challenge you in your mission.

As for your stages, you have the GFS Aegis, the training area and ship you serve on. It's also where the Blast Ball arena is located. Then you have the ice planet Excelcion, the desert planet Bion, and the gas planet Talvania. Finally, you have the Doomseye, the superweapon that the Space Pirates are building.

Metroid Prime Hunters

METROID PRIME HUNTERS

And now for a very popular game, largely for its cast of playable characters, including six rival hunters alongside Samus, each completing various missions and going up against each other in battles on their quest to achieve it. Each one is going after an ancient power recently discovered in the far reaches of space, each with their own motives for doing so.

Each is relatively similar in playstyle, each having their own version of the laser and morph ball and so on. Samus is her basic self with all the things you'd expect from her. Noxus is an icy alien similar to Rundas who seeks absolute law and justice and seeks the weapon to keep it from falling into evil hands. His laser weapon is the Judicator, while instead of a morph ball, he can change into a small insectoid form called the Vhoscythe. He can also project a shield of ice around himself and attack with his arm at close range.

Sylux is easily the most popular of these six, a mysterious hunter with an intense grudge against the Federation, strongly implied to be the villain of Metroid Prime 4 (if it ever actually comes out). Sylux mainly uses electrical weapons, including a shock coil as his main weapon, and his Morph ball form is called the Lockjaw, a ball of electricity in metallic casing. He can also use electric bombs, a tripwire, and he can call in his ship, the Delano 7, when needed.

Spire is the last of his kind, and is seeking the ultimate power in order to learn what happened to his people. He uses the Magmaul to fire lava, and becomes a rolling ball of rock called the Dialanche. He can also pummel with his arms and create shockwaves. Trace is . . . basically Invader Zim. He's a young member of an invader race on a rite of passage to find a planet to conquer. He wields the Imperialist which he uses as a sniping weapon, whereas his body transforms into a small form called the Triskelion that he can jump strike with. He can also turn himself invisible.

Kanden is a biological experiment that broke out and went rogue, and now seeks the ultimate power to become even stronger. He can turn into a little bug called a Stinglarva, and he wields the Volt Driver to shoot electromagnetic blasts. He can also use a shield, and detach his tail to leave behind as a bomb. Weavel is a former space pirate, wounded in battle with Samus, who now seeks revenge against her. He wields a weapon called the Battlehammer, which acts as a handheld mortar, and he can take on a tank form called the Half-Turret. He also has a scythe for an arm and can use a smaller pistol weapon.

In the end, this Ultimate Power was simply a ruse sent into the galaxy telepathically by an ancient evil called Gorea, that had nearly wiped out an ancient race called the Alimbics and had been sealed away in another dimension to contain it. The hunters' search for the power accidentally unleashed Gorea, and it acted as the final boss against them. It has long tentacles to attack with and drain energy from its victims. It can also shoot lasers, toss energy balls, hover upside down, copy and use the hunters' attacks, warp around, and take on a final form. Other bosses include the Cretaphid, Slench, the Fire Spawn, and the Arctic Spawn, most of which are pretty basic.

The game takes place across five different locations where battles can be fought. These include the Celestial Archives (a giant library), Alinos (a fire planet), an abandonded station called Vesper Defense Outpost, an ice planet called Arcterra, and the Oubliette, the ship Gorea was trapped inside.

Metroid Prime Pinball

METROID PRIME PINBALL

Outside of the main trilogy, three games were released with the title of Metroid Prime as random spinoffs. The first of these was a basic pinball game, heavily based on the first Metroid Prime game, using Samus's morph ball as the marble. Samus, of course, appears, as do Dark Samus, Meta Ridley, the Metroid Prime, Space Pirates, Metroids, Parasites, and Phazon Elites. The boards are based on Frigate Orpheon, Phazon Mines, Phendrana Drifts, Tallon Overworld, Artifact Temple, and the Impact Crater. And that's really all I have to say on that.

Here's what we've got so far:

Characters:

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

METROID PRIME 3: CORRUPTION

And now, it is time for the third and final (for now) entry in the Metroid Prime series, and one that pretty drastically veers away from a lot of the standard formula, such as the Federation and other bounty hunters being a massive part of the story, and Samus's adventure covering multiple different planets. The story follows Samus as she participates in a massive assault on the Space Pirates that results in her three bounty hunter companions being infected by Phazon and drawn under the control of Dark Samus.

Samus is our main protagonist, bringing with her this time lasers, the morph ball, bombs, missiles, a grapple lasso, a hyper mode, ice missiles, the boost ball, the plasma beam, the screw attack, hyper missiles, an x-ray visor, grapple voltage, the spider ball, a hazard shield, and a hyper grapple.

Her three companions are the ice alien Rundas, the robot Ghor, and the shapeshifter Gandrayda. Rundas can shoot ice, skate on ice, create lines of ice, emerge from and disappear into ice, create ice blocks, shield himself with ice, and create ice spikes. Ghor primarily pilots a hunter mech with a blade, a laser beam, a shield, a plasma beam, and the ability to leap, spin, charge, and throw an entire ship. Gandrayda normally only leaps and throws disks herself, but being the shapeshifter can fill the same niche as Doopliss or Ditto.

Other supporting characters appear in the form of the Federation, including Admiral Castor Dane and the Space Marines, who use guns, turrets, and can supercharge things. Most of their operations are also directed by the Aurora Units, giant brainlike AI that dole out instructions. One of them is corrupted by the Pirates and serves as an endgame boss, with tentacles, a big laser, four lasers shooting out, the ability to float and spin, and laser orbs.

Dark Samus serves as our main villain, trying to spread her Phazon across the galaxy and control it all. She fires a laser blast, a blast of phazon, uses a jetpack, grows tentacles of phazon, uses a spray beam, warps around, absorbs attacks, duplicates herself, creates pillars, and causes a shockwave. Meta Ridley also appears as the main boss of the Space Pirate assault in the opening of the game. He fires a laser blast, flies, claws, fires an explosive blast, bites, breaths fire, and spins his tail. He also has heavy armor.

Our bosses include the Korakk, a beast that Space Pirates ride and can shoot lasers; Mogenar, a large war golem that stomps, rages, and shoots orbs; a Defense Drone with cannons and turrets and can jump; a Phazon Harvester Drone; Helios, a mechanoid that shoots lasers and has a sturdy shell; a Metroid Hatcher, and a Pirate Commander that can teleport and shoot energy balls. Also worth noting at the Berserker Lords, enhanced Pirates who shoot energy balls, claw, fire laser beams, spit blobs, and breathe out damaging energy. Another major aspect are the Labor Golems that Samus can use or fight, which can shoulder bash, jump, use a battering ram, breathe fire, fire an energy beam, and freeze things.

Space Pirates, of course, are our main enemy types, with lasers, grenades, aerotrooper jetpacks, shields, and armored tactical carriers. Other important enemies include the Metroids and Liquid Phazon, which can move around on its own, infect Samus, spawn more Phazon grubs, shoot blasts of Phazon, and there's lots of other basic properties of Phazon to think about. Other enemies include Gragnols, Nightbarbs, Gel Puffers, Reptilicuses, Alpha Hoppers, Warp Hounds, Pill Bugs, Gel Rays, Scorch Bugs, Shriekbats, Jelsacs, and Scritters. There are also several "Mechanoids" running around in this game, including Crawltanks, Crawlmines, Aeromines, Jumpmines, Jolly Roger Drones, Tinbots, Steamlords, and Steambots, which I may have to include separately from the Aut-stuff of Metroid II and Dread. I will look into it.

The game takes place on multiple different planets, with those acting as the areas instead of different biomes on one planet. These include Norion in the opening chapter, Bryyo, Elysia, the Pirate Homeworld, and Phaaze, with the GFS Olympus as the main command ship of the Federation, and the GFS Valhalla as a ship attacked by Space Pirates.

And that's about it! Here's what we've got so far:
