KANDEN
And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:
1. Federation Mech
2. Rundas
3. Ghor
4. Gandrayda
5. Noxus
6. Sylux
7. Spire
8. Trace
9. Kanden
10. Weavel
11. U-Mos
12. Aurora Unit
13. Dark Samus
14. Meta Ridley
15. Metroid Prime
16. Emperor Ing
17. Gorea
18. Chozo Ghost
19. Mechanoid
20. Ing
21. Liquid Phazon
22. Quad
23. Phazon Elite
24. Berserker Lord
25. Labor Golem
Next up, we have another more or less on the evil end of things. Kanden is a super-soldier and the result of biological engineering by his people. He ended up breaking out and going rogue, seeking the ultimate power in order to make himself even stronger. So, he's basically Mewtwo, or Shadow the Hedgehog, or Rampage from Beast Wars, or . . . actually, there's quite a few characters with similar backstories. If any reference was intentional, I would guess Mewtwo, but I assume it's common enough just to be a repeated trope.
Kanden is also an electric-type, but also a bug-type. He wields the Volt Driver as his main weapon, and can transform into a small insectoid form called the Stinglarva. He can also protect himself with a shield, and his Stinglarva form can leave its tail behind as a bomb.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Volt Driver
He will fire his Volt Driver as a projectile, which will shock anyone it hits.
Side B: Stinglarva
He will transform into the Stinglarva in order to crawl under attacks and escape damage.
Up B: Larva Bomb
He will transform into a Stinglarva and eject his tail, propelling him upward. The tail will then move toward the nearest player and explode after a few seconds.
Down B: Electric Shield
He will shield himself with electricity for a few seconds.
Final Smash: Laboratory Breakout
He will slam into an opponent, triggering a cutscene that places the fighter in the lab he was created in, on the day of his breakout, with similar imagery as Hunters' opening cutscenes for him.
Entrance: He will start the battle with the Hunters' starting animation.
Taunts: Up, he will rise into the air and lightning crackles around him. Side, he will hold out the Volt Driver and charge a shot. Down, he will turn into a Stinglarva and circle once.
Kirby Hat: His green singular eye thing on his forehead.
Kart: Based on a Stinglarva.
Special Move: He will be able to drop a larva bomb that will home in on the nearest racer behind him.
Spirit Battle: On Celestial Archives, with an electrified floor.
Victory Screen: His victory pose from Hunters.
Losing Screen: His defeat animation from Hunters.
Color Swaps: His normal colors, a red color, a blue color, a purple color, a yellow color, pink color, a black color, a silver color.
Thanks for reading! Next up, the final hunter with the biggest grudge against Samus herself.
