Character Sheet: Weavel

WEAVEL

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Mechanoid

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

Honestly, I'm surprised the Metroid series doesn't utilize this guy more. A space pirate wounded in battle with Samus, rebuilt as a cyborg bounty hunter and now seeking revenge against her? That just feels like prime storytelling for at least a recurring miniboss. But either way, Weavel is the last of our six rival bounty hunters, and another firmly on the evil side.

Weavel wields a weapon called the Battlehammer that fires powerful mortar shots, and basically transforms into a tank called the Half-Turret which can fire shots from its cannon. He also has a scythe on his arm that he can attack with, and carries a smaller pistol weapon that he fires during a cutscene.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Battlehammer

He will fire the Battlehammer, which will hit with heavy damage.

Side B: Blade Slash

He will dash forward and slice with his arm blade.

Up B: Aerotrooper

Unfortunately lacking in directly aerial moves, we can at least extrapolate a little from his backstory and give him an Aerotrooper jetpack.

Down B: Half-Turret

He will transform into his tank form, allowing him to drive around with additional armor while firing shots around him.

Final Smash: Full Turret

Expanding on the Half-Turret, he will transform into his tank form, and other Space Pirate tanks will appear behind him and start firing on the stage.

Entrance: He will start the battle with the Hunters' starting animation.

Taunts: Up, he will raise his scythe into the air. Side, he will hold his side and look vengeful. Down, he will shift into the Half-Turret and back.

Kirby Hat: His mask.

Kart: Based on the Half-Turret.

Special Move: He will be able to fire mortar shells from his turret.

Spirit Battle: On Celestial Archives, with Space Pirates as backup.

Victory Screen: His victory pose from Hunters.

Losing Screen: His defeat animation from Hunters.

Color Swaps: His normal colors, a color scheme based on the green pirates, red pirates, blue pirates, and gold pirates, a purple scheme based on Ridley, a black scheme, and a white scheme.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we start off next week with a small assortment of ally characters.
