Character Sheet: Zero

ZERO

Now, we have finished the television series, and we have SO many characters to cover, from all across the spectrum. There are a few characters here and there that might get a few upgrades to their movesets, mostly being the Donkey Kong cast (one example, I think Klump should absolutely have a Klaptrap gun now). But, there are so many that are so distinct from their game counterparts, I could only make a brand new slot for them. They are:

Today, we'll be covering Zero from the episode "Mark of Zero." A Zorro parody, Zero is a masked vigilante who protects her home of El Desert Land from King Koopa and his forces. Mario and his friends travel to El Desert Land in hopes of recruiting her to help fight against him, only for her to be captured in battle. In the end, she is revealed to be the vendor at a taco stand they visited when they first arrived. Across the episode, we see her use a whip to both tie up enemies and swing from higher locations, a rapier to fight and often mark her opponents with a zero, and glide with her cape. Cacti are both used by and against her, and other characters make us of vegetables and tortillas as throwing weapons across the episode, which I suppose can be attributed to her in a theme sort of way.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Mark of Zero

She will slash forward with her rapier, cutting a "0" mark on the chest of her opponent, which will linger for a short time afterward.

Side B: Tortilla

Though not used by her specifically, it is still heavily tied to the episode's theme, and her too, being the vendor of a taco stand in her day job. She will toss a tortilla forward, which will smack a character in the face and cause them to stumble.

Up B: Cape

She will lash upward with her whip, snagging something and pulling herself upward, then spread her cape and glide down afterwards.

Down B: Cactus

She will slash off a section of a cactus and launch it forward, which will then strike and opponent and stick them to a cactus that will appear behind them, mirroring a move used by King Koopa against her.

Final Smash: Master Swordswoman

She will lunge forward at top speed, unleashing a hundred blows with her rapier in a matter of seconds, similar to Donkey Kong, Link, or Ike's final smashes. Finally, she will land a finishing blow, a fiery "0" appearing on the screen as the character is launched from the arena.

Entrance: In her vendor outfit, she will dash behind her taco stand and emerge in full costume.

Taunts: Up, she will strike a heroic pose like when she first appears in costume. Side, she will hold up one of her trays from the taco stand and toss it away quickly, looking embarrassed. Down, she will perform the motion to cut a "0."

Thanks for reading! Next up is Captain Abidab!
