Character Sheet: Waldo the Wizard

WALDO THE WIZARD

Now, we have finished the television series, and we have SO many characters to cover, from all across the spectrum. There are a few characters here and there that might get a few upgrades to their movesets, mostly being the Donkey Kong cast (one example, I think Klump should absolutely have a Klaptrap gun now). Today, let's cover Waldo the Wizard from the episode "Princess, I Shrunk the Mario Brothers." Similar to our earlier wizard Mervin, Waldo is a sorcerer living in the Mushroom Kingdom who was forced from his castle by King Koopa. When the Mario brothers and friends try to take back the castle, he allies himself with them, supplying them with a potion that accidentally ends up shrinking the brothers. Across the episode, we see him use both a shrinking and a growing potion, float in midair, vanish, cast spells, and enchant a flying boot to chase Koopa and his men from his castle. Thematically, we can also tie in the lawn chairs he, Peach, and Toad were strapped to that they wheeled around and smashed into their enemies with, and the pesticide Koopa attempted to use on the shrunken brothers.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Shrinking Potion

Considering it's the central premise of the episode, it fits here. Waldo will throw out a vial of his shrinking potion, which will smash on an opponent and shrink them for a short time.

Side B: Pesticide

Given it being a major threat in the episode, I'd be remiss not to use it. He will hold up Koopa's sprayer and release a blast, inflicting poison damage on anyone caught in it.

Up B: Vanish

He will use magic to make himself disappear and reappear, floating high above. Similar to Mervin's own move, I suppose.

Down B: Growth Potion

He will take a swig of his own growth potion, making himself larger for a short time and boosting his stats.

Final Smash: Flying Boot

He will enchant his large flying boot into existence. The boot will target one specific player, flip around, and kick that character in the backside, sending them flying off the stage.

Entrance: He will appear floating in midair.

Taunts: Up, he will wave his wand in the air and cause sparkles to appear. Side, he will hold out a vial and shake it up for a second. Down, he will rest on a lounge chair for a second.

Thanks for reading! Next up is the last of the first season characters, the Quirks!
