Character Sheet: Nabbit

 NABBIT

Today, we begin our newcomers. I did say going into this that the RPGs would likely be the last shot for many of the frequent enemies you wouldn't expect to see on a Smash roster, but what I didn't expect was that the RPGs would actually come through for a lot of them. At least one I thought was never going to happen in a million, billion years. But here we are. The first ten are all Mario regulars who finally took the step up to playable. The other sixteen are originals to the Mario & Luigi games (or Origami King) specifically.

1. Toadsworth

2. Captain Toad

3. Buzzy Beetle

4. King Bob-Omb

5. Pokey

6. Ninji

7. Thwomp

8. Whomp

9. Mechakoopa

10. Nabbit

11. Mario & Luigi

12. Prince Peasley

13. Prince Dreambert

14. Olivia

15. King Olly

16. Broque Monsieur

17. Massif Bros.

18. Cackletta

19. Fawful

20. Princess Shroob

21. The Dark Star

22. Antasma

23. Midbus

24. Shroob

25. Popple

26. Durmite/Wisdurm

Today, let's cover Nabbit, a trickster rabbit originating in New Super Mario Bros. U and has since become a bit of a staple of the series, including, for our purposes today, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, where I'm halfway convinced he was switched out for Popple in the final stages because of Miyamoto's whole anti-complex-stories-and-characters thing. In Paper Jam, he will steal things and run away with them, as per usual, toss out spike balls to hinder his pursuers, burrow underground, create duplicates of himself, throw his bag as a projectile, and use stolen items, either offensively on his own or to help occasional allies. Some items from New Super Mario Bros. U might be considered as well.

Here is his moveset:

Standard B: Steal

He will grab any items nearby or any projectiles coming at him and stash them in his bag. He can then pull them out again for his own usage.

Side B: Spin and Throw

He will spin around with his bag really fast and throw it as a projectile. The amount of items stashed inside will affect the amount of damage done.

Up B: Baby Yoshi

This one is more based specifically on New Super Mario Bros. U and makes use of the Baby Yoshis that appeared there. Specifically, he will use its inflato-ability, causing the baby to inflate and carry him high into the sky.

Down B: Spike

He will pull out a pair of spiky rocks, tossing one to either side of him. They will stick in the ground and damage anyone who touches them.

Final Smash: Invulnerability

He will temporarily become incapable of taking damage at all and gain a boost of speed, allowing him to run around doling out damage and picking up as many items as possible.

Entrance: He will pop out of a burrow.

Taunts: Up, he will hop up and down excitedly. Side, he will put his hand over his eyes and look back and forth. Down, he will open his bag and inspect the contents.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we begin the RPG specific characters, starting with the tag-team of Mario & Luigi.
