Character Sheet: Prince Peasley

 PRINCE PEASLEY

Today, we begin our newcomers. I did say going into this that the RPGs would likely be the last shot for many of the frequent enemies you wouldn't expect to see on a Smash roster, but what I didn't expect was that the RPGs would actually come through for a lot of them. At least one I thought was never going to happen in a million, billion years. But here we are. The first ten are all Mario regulars who finally took the step up to playable. The other sixteen are originals to the Mario & Luigi games (or Origami King) specifically.

Today, we're going to cover Prince Peasley, the dashing bishonen supporting character from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. At the start of the game, you learn he's gone missing from the Beanbean Kingdom. You follow his trail to a fearsome dragon, who you discover upon defeating is the missing prince cursed by Cackletta. After that, he becomes a solid supporting character, showing up at important moments and helping you out. He doesn't have too much to work with, but drawing from his own appearances, his fight as a dragon, and his family members Queen Bean and Lady Lima, he has just enough. First off, he often appears on a flying pillow, tosses roses and flicks his hair in a dashing manner, and carries around a rapier that he uses to attack. His mother, also under a curse can spit out beans as projectiles, and given the whole bean thing the game had going on, it's not too much of a stretch. And of course we have his Dragohoho form, which can spit out Hoho Blocks and the Hoho Stone at you.

Here's his moveset:

Standard B: Bean Toss

Peasley will spin dramatically and toss out a bean, or in some cases a Beanie enemy, which will act as a light projectile.

Side B: Rapier Slash

His rapier will clearly be a constant part of his moveset, but this move will by one quick series of flurries, slashing hard at the opponent and racking up lots of damage.

Up B: Winged Pillow

I guess this one's pretty obvious. He will hop onto his winged pillow, which will carry him upwards. Another strong possibility is Blablanadon grabbing him and carrying him up, but I felt the Pillow was more personal to him.

Down B: Hoho Stone

Peasley will drop the Hoho Stone, which will act as a heavy weight that will do damage to anyone it lands on. Good for spiking.

Final Smash: Dragohoho

Basically, Peasley will transform into Dragohoho and rampage across the stage quickly.

Entrance: He will fly in on his flying pillow.

Taunts: Up, he will run his hand through his hair and smile with a sparkle. Side, he will spin dashingly, sniff a rose, and toss it to the side (doing light damage). Down, he will pat a Beanie on the head.

Thanks for reading! Next up, let's cover another prince of the Mario & Luigi series, Prince Dreambert!
