Character Sheet: Steambot

STEAMBOT

And now, we have another set of characters, this time hailing from the Prime series of games. You'd think a series like Metroid wouldn't have that many, but we're pretty close to fifty now. Our new ones include:

1. Federation Mech

2. Rundas

3. Ghor

4. Gandrayda

5. Noxus

6. Sylux

7. Spire

8. Trace

9. Kanden

10. Weavel

11. U-Mos

12. Aurora Unit

13. Dark Samus

14. Meta Ridley

15. Metroid Prime

16. Emperor Ing

17. Gorea

18. Chozo Ghost

19. Steambot

20. Ing

21. Liquid Phazon

22. Quad

23. Phazon Elite

24. Berserker Lord

25. Labor Golem

So, this one's a little weird, as it stems more from me noticing that during a specific chapter of Metroid 3, there are a lot of mechanoid-type enemies hanging around Elysia and working with Ghor. After some digging, they do all appear to fall under the Elysian banner, a race of sentient machines built by the Chozo on the planet which were corrupted by Phazon. These include Tinbots, Steambots, Steamlords, Defense Drones, Aerial Drones, Repair Drones, Databots, and Helios. I have chosen the name Steambot as they seem the best and most iconic version of them to go with.

Tinbots are the most basic, with small basic projectiles and the ability to spray steam to keep an enemy back. Steambots are bigger and tougher, with added missile launchers and the ability to spray steam in a circle. Steamlords are the leaders of these groups, and four of them are encountered with the ability to send out Steambots to attack. Defense Drones have a cannon, can split into two segments, and will electrify on contact. Aerial and Repair Drones can fix damage, Databots don't do much, and Helios is a boss controlling Swarmbots.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Steam Vent

The Steambot will spin and release a bunch of steam, forcing players and projectiles back and doing minor damage.

Side B: Missile Launcher

The Steambot will shoot a heat-seeking missile that will target the nearest opponent.

Up B: Swarmbots

A swarm of Swarmbots will circle the Steambot and pick it up, carrying it higher.

Down B: Repair Drone

An aerial repair drone will emerge and repair the Steambot, healing it of damage. This will take some time, so the drone could be damaged.

Final Smash: Helios

Helios and his swarm will appear on the stage, mostly recreating its boss battle.

Entrance: A Steamlord will activate the robot.

Taunts: Up, a Databot will appear and display a message. Side, the Steambot will let out a bunch of steam.

Kirby Hat: Based on their metallic faces.

Kart: Based on a Defense Drone.

Special Move: It will release a bunch of steam to push opponents and items away from it.

Spirit Battle: A horde battle on Norion.

Victory Screen: A Steamlord will rise and shut down the Steambot.

Losing Screen: They will spark and fall apart.

Color Swaps: A standard Steambot, a red one, a blue one, a standard Tinbot, a green one, a dark blue one, a Steamlord, a blue Steamlord.

Thanks for reading! Next up, the main enemies appearing in Metroid Prime 2!
