If there was ever a Legend of Zelda glow-up, this would be it. Lynels have been a part of the Zelda series since the very beginning, exclusive to the 2D games for most of its run as merely late game enemies that are a bit harder to kill than average. And then there's Breath of the Wild, where they are terrifying monsters that have even the most experiences players running for their lives or playing in stealth mode just hoping and praying they aren't spotted. Honestly, most fun part of the game.

Among their various abilities in Breath of the Wild alone, they carry shields, wield broadswords, fire arrows charged with lightning, can charge at top speed and even leap long distances to get to the player, they can warp if you get too far away, and they can breath fire. In all the games prior, they mostly just shot projectiles at you. They did not have to go as extra as they did with the upgrade.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Lightning Arrow

The broadsword and shield being the more standard weapon, the Lynel's first move will be to draw a bow and fire a lightning-charged arrow at an arc so that it comes down and hits opponents from above.

Side B: Demon Charge

The Lynel will charge forward, surrounded in fire and swinging its broadsword, as it tends to do when it gets angry.

Up B: Warp

The Lynel will vanish and reappear up in the air, coming down with its hooves to stomp on whoever happens to be below it.

Down B: Fire Breath

It will breathe out fire, turning its head back and forth and spreading flames across a medium-sized area in front of it that will linger for a while.

Final Smash: Lynel Rampage

Honestly, I can't think of a better Lynel ultimate move than just it being itself. So, this will be one of those like Ike's or Little Mac's or Donkey Kong's where it just proceeds to beat the sh*t out of an opponent.

Entrance: It will warp in.

Taunts: Up, the Lynel will rear up on its hind legs in rage. Side, the Lynel will look around aimlessly, as it would be doing when you snuck up on it. Down, the Lynel will go down on its front knees to rest for a second.

Thanks for reading! Next up, another 2D game regular that got a glow-up from Breath of the Wild.
