GAME & WARIO
Game & Wario is a "kind-of" Wario Ware game, in that it stars all the Wario Ware characters, and is ostensibly part of the series, but it's gameplay is very different. Rather than the microgames that the series was known for, this one featured a bunch of Game & Watch style games, simple games that don't take too much complexity, but that can be played for quite a while. On the plus side, this is probably the one that's going to give characters the most for their own moveset potential outside of the microgames.
Wario's story features him learning about the new Wii U console on the TV and deciding to make his own money off of it by making games. Wario's first game is Arrow, inspired by him chasing a mouse and trying to shoot it with a bow and arrow. The game itself involves shooting arrows at a bunch of targets and enemies while avoiding cannonballs. At the end you fight a boss called Mecha Wario. His second match is Pirates, where he dresses up as a pirate. The game involves him directing pirate ships to shoot at you, while you have to move around to block the attacks.
In Mona's game, she is working as a photographer for a newspaper, her game Shutter being similar to games like Pokemon Snap, where you gave to get a good picture of specific targets. Jimmy's story involves him skiing down the hill. That's pretty much it. Kat and Ana's game, Patchwork, involves them using their katanas to cut fabric and make crafts with them, you mostly doing the same.
Young Cricket and Master Mantis's game, Kung Fu, features them training, Cricket having to cross a series of obstacle courses by jumping really high, in order to reach his master and have some dumplings. He could also lunge downward really fast, kind of like Sonic or Zero-Suit Samus's moves. 9-Volt's game, Gamer, is probably the most famous game out of all of this, having been the influence for a genuinely great Smash stage. He is playing Balloon Fighter late into the night, but has to watch for his mom 5-Volt, who will get very angry if she catches him.
Dr. Crygor's story sees him getting stuck to his toilet and sucked down the drain. His game, Design, has you drawing lines and shapes, eventually assembling a robot with them. Ashley's story sees her trying to transport herself into a picture full of monster, but accidentally sending herself into a candy world instead. Her game is then her riding Red as a broom, trying to escape as a flying shooter game.
Dribble and Spitz's game, Taxi, sees them driving around a small course while alien spacecraft are abducting citizens. Dribble drives around, while Spitz shoots lasers at the ships trying to take them down. A level at the end features all the characters coming together to go bowling. Another features a Pyoro bird trying to catch falling beans.
Now we come to the multiplayer games. Orbulon's sketch game is basically pictionary. Penny Crygor's Fruit sees one player acting as a thief, while the other players have to identify who the thief is. The Fronks get their own game this time, seeing them being catapulted from island to island for points. Finally, Mike's Disco game is a rhythm game, where the second player has to match the first's rhythm.
Once again, the game is set in Diamond City, with locations including Wario's House, Dr. Crygor's Lab, Toy Express, Club Sugar, and the Diamond City Times, among others. Each of the minigames could possibly function as stages as exemplified by Gamer.
