YOSHI
Today, let's get started on the Mario spinoff series/prequel and all the characters that appeared there. As before with the Donkey Kong series, this will result in a split roster, but for now, let's just cover them all together.
1. Yoshi (Revision)
2. Bowser (Revision)
3. Kamek (Revision)
4. Koopa Troopa (Revision)
5. Shy Guy (Revision)
6. Goomba (Revision)
7. Piranha Plant (Revision)
8. Boo (Revision)
9. Blooper (Revision)
10. Lakitu and Spinies (Revision)
11. Monty Mole (Revision)
12. Yarn Yoshi
13. Baby Mario
14. Baby Bowser
15. Bandit
16. Ukiki
17. Chain Chomp
Today, we'll start off with our protagonist, Mario's beloved sidekick Yoshi. Obviously Yoshi, or the Yoshis, appear in every game, acting as the protagonist of each, most of the time as a protector of Baby Mario as he tries escape the machinations of Kamek, or otherwise simply putting an end to hijinks caused by Kamek or Baby Bowser.
Most of Yoshi's moveset here is pretty much what we see in Super Smash Bros. He eats enemies, actually turning them into eggs now as opposed to his appearances in the Mario games, and throwing them as projectiles is his main line of attack. He also has a butt bash maneuver in most games, though surprisingly, we actually don't see him roll up into an egg at any point. He does hatch from an egg, but reverting to egg form isn't normally a thing. Many things he does do that aren't represented in Smash are breathing fire and ice, and his transformations into things such as helicopters, mole tanks, and submarines, among many others. Also, his ability to rocket forward and throw gigantic eggs from New Island is not present either.
Let's see what we can do!
Standard B: Egg Lay
His basic move from Smash. He sticks out his tongue and swallows an enemy, popping them out as an egg. Now that we've actually seen him do so, it is really his only fitting standard move.
Side B: Egg Shot
Yoshi's basic projectile move from the games. This is actually Yoshi's Up B in Smash, but without the Egg Roll move, and with the move being one of the few in Smash without decent upward mobility, I feel it works better here. Possibly might have the cursor effect that it has in the games, but could remain as just a throw.
Up B: Helicopter
The transformations are such a core part of the Yoshi games that it feels strange they aren't featured in his moveset at all. I would like to remedy this and add in the transformation as his Up B, taking him up a certain distance before changing back.
Down B: Ground Pound
I'mma keep this. He still uses it pretty much all over the place, so I feel it fits here.

Final Smash: Yoshi Herd
One could reasonably trade out this move for the giant eggs used in New Island and just demolish the playing field, but I feel like the move currently used in Smash is much more representative of the character of Yoshi as a whole, so I think we'll keep it.
Entrance: He hatches from an egg.
Taunts: That cute little dance he does when he completes a level would be a pretty good one. Honestly, a lot of his cute movements and behaviors would work. The same goes for his new games. Cute is definitely a good descriptor here.
Next up: Let's warp through time and space to cover Bowser!
