Character Sheet: Kamek (Yoshi Main Series)

KAMEK

Today, let's get started on the Mario spinoff series/prequel and all the characters that appeared there. As before with the Donkey Kong series, this will result in a split roster, but for now, let's just cover them all together.

1. Yoshi (Revision)
2. Bowser (Revision)
3. Kamek (Revision)
4. Koopa Troopa (Revision)
5. Shy Guy (Revision)
6. Goomba (Revision)
7. Piranha Plant (Revision)
8. Boo (Revision)
9. Blooper (Revision)
10. Lakitu and Spinies (Revision)
11. Monty Mole (Revision)
12. Yarn Yoshi
13. Baby Mario
14. Baby Bowser
15. Bandit
16. Ukiki
17. Chain Chomp

Kamek the Magikoopa appears as the main villain (sorta shared with Baby Bowser) throughout nearly all of the Yoshi series, the one exception here being Yoshi's Story for some reason. Basically, Kamek is Baby Bowser's nanny who learned of a prophecy that the babies Mario and Luigi would someday cause trouble for his ward, and sent his minions to abduct and dispose of them while they were being brought by the stork. (Don't you just love cutesy, whimsical stories about infanticide?)

Kamek's role in the games is normally pretty basic, appearing at the start of every boss battle to cast a spell on a basic enemy in order to turn it into a giant or otherwise mutate it in some way. He is seen flying on his broom most of the time and sometimes tries to sweep across the screen to hit Yoshi. In some games, he is his own boss fight, teleporting and casting damaging spells at you. In New Island, he carries around a giant hammer to whack basic enemies with to turn into giants rather than just using his regular spell. In Woolly World, he could transform Yoshis into bundles of yarn, and in Crafted World, he pilots his own mech.

Here's his moveset:

Standard B: Magic Spell
Combining this with his previous Down B, as they were basically the same maneuver. He will cast a spell that, when connecting with an opponent, will do damage, but when it connects with an item will transform it into an enemy (I like Buzzy Beetle for it).

Side B: Broomstick
Kept the same.

Up B: Teleport
Kept the same.

Down B: Hammer
He will whip out his magical hammer and smash an opponent with it, doing damage but also causing some type of status effect as well.

Final Smash: Boss Battle
Casts his enlarging spell upon himself, making himself a giant. He will then tromp around the stage, casting spells everywhere.

Entrance: Swoop in on his broom and do his little chuckle.

Taunts: Hold up his wand and wave it around for a second, is a good one. His chuckle, as mentioned before. Maybe cast a little magic and surprise himself.

Next up: Let's go over the Koopa Troopa enemies.
