MAPLE
Alright, so we did have one more semi-big character list in us. Let's get into it! This is all characters I could pull out originating from the Legend of Zelda manga, or were given just enough of a boost by the manga to make it into our rankings. They are:
1. Maple
2. Jolene
3. Ricky
4. Captain Stalfos
5. Manga Link
6. Riruto
7. Manga Zelda
8. Raska
9. Tou
10. Ghanti
11. Gonza
12. Kala
13. Captain Arjuna
14. Sir Raven
15. Biri
16. Com
17. Gump
18. Shemlon
19. Rouro
20. Ganon's Minion
21. Ganon's Heart
22. Ganos
23. Haggis
We'll start off with Maple, a game character from the Oracle of Ages and the Oracle of Seasons, most memorable for accidentally crashing into Link at certain points and starting up a minigame where she and Link race to gather more of their dropped items. She served a witch as her errand girl, and was even referenced as the mentor of Irene in A Link Between Worlds. In the Oracle of Seasons manga by Himekawa Akira, she acted as a main party member to Link alongside Ricky the Kangaroo.
As a young witch, she can, of course, fly around on brooms, cast spells, and provide potions. Among her spells, courtesy of the manga, she can create cushions, lift heavy objects, summon demons, create an army of false monsters, and peer through a crystal ball at events happening far away. I think that should do us.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Cushion Spell
She will cast a spell forward, summoning a cushion and walloping her opponents with it right in their face.
Side B: Crash
Based on her actions in-game, she will speed forward on her broom and crash into the first thing she connects with. All items held by the opposing party will be dropped.
Up B: Broom
She will hop on her broom and fly away. Her broom will act as a platform that any other player will be able to use at their own risk to ride with her.
Down B: Potion
She will down a potion from her mistress and heal herself of some damage.
Final Smash: Army of Monsters
She will cast an illusion around the stage of an army of monsters surrounding her opponents. These monsters will not actually harm the opponent, but will make things confusing and obscure the player's vision while Maple herself flies around hitting people.
Entrance: She will race in and crash for a second
Taunts: Up, she will cross her arms and stick her nose in the air. Side, she will fix her hat and grin excitedly. Down, she will peer into her crystal ball.
Thanks for reading! Next up, another secondary character who didn't quite get in before.
