YUGA
Today, we begin a new round of character sheets, all primarily appearing in the 2D titles from Oracles to Tri Force Heroes. We have quite a few, though not as many as the 3D titles. Among them are:
1. Four Links
2. Ravio
3. Princess Hilda
4. Toon Zelda
5. Din
6. Nayru
7. Ezlo
8. Minish/Picori
9. Linebeck
10. Oshus & Ciela
11. Ralph
12. Alfonzo
13. Madame Couture
14. Subrosian
15. Onox
16. Veran
17. Vaati
18. Bellum
19. Chancellor Cole & Malladus
20. Yuga
21. Lady Maud
22. Byrne
Just as Ravio was cowardly but still noble at heart, and Hilda was foolish but still loved and cared for her people, Yuga is the Lorule version of Ganondorf, lacking in the sheer raw power of his counterpart, forcing him to rely on magic and trickery instead, but still just as evil. He is the main villain of A Link Between Worlds, kidnapping those destined to be the sages and trapping them away in paintings.
Across the game, we see him transform people into paintings (an obvious Yoshi's egg style move, I think), turn into paint himself, summon lightning and fire, draw enemies from paintings, and cause paintings to explode. Later in the game, we see him resurrect Ganon only to absorb his power and fuse with him. At this point, he has a trident, can float, and throws dark orbs. I think that's more than enough to work with.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Painting
He will cast a spell at an opponent, which, if he can keep them there long enough, will transform them into paintings. They will be able to break out after a few seconds.
Side B: Exploding Portraits
He will send out a spinning portrait frame as a projectile that will explode on contact.
Up B: Float
He will float into the air by magic the way he does when he has absorbed Ganon.
Down B: 2D Shift
He will transform himself into a 2D Painting of himself and be able to move around without getting hurt.
Final Smash: The Power of Ganon
He will absorb the power of Ganon and transform into his big pig form, striking across the map with his trident as lightning strikes.
Entrance: He will emerge from a painting.
Taunts: Up, he will raise his staff and laugh as a portrait spins behind him. Side, the portraits of the seven sages will circle around him. Down, he will use his brush to paint on the floor for a second.
Thanks for reading! Tomorrow, our final main villain from these games, Lady Maud of Tri Force Heroes.
