Character Sheet: Subrosian

SUBROSIAN

Today, we begin a new round of character sheets, all primarily appearing in the 2D titles from Oracles to Tri Force Heroes. We have quite a few, though not as many as the 3D titles. Among them are:

Subrosians are a bit of a deep cut here. To be honest, I didn't know they existed until I started doing the research for these games. They are mysterious cloaked beings who live underground beneath Labrynna, and appear almost exclusively in Oracle of Seasons (they will crop up again in a Tingle game, but we'll get to that). They mostly make up the NPCs living underground, with enough random elements from sidequests and things to make a moveset.

So, first off, we have the warp points that they use to travel between their home and the surface world. Their world is dotted with rivers of lava and exploding volcanoes that go off from time to time. One Subrosian is seen carrying around buckets of water, while others are seen smelting ore at large forges, with shovels, hammers, and boomerangs being a constant part of their daily life. There's also a dance studio down there, so . . . taunts at least.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Shovel

The Subrosian will pull out a shovel and dig into the ground, lobbing a mound of dirt forward as a heavy projectile.

Side B: Water Buckets

The Subrosian will pull out the two water buckets carried around by one of them, smacking it around and striking from both sides, while also acting as a temporary shield against attack.

Up B: Warp Point

The Subrosian will stand on a warp point, start spinning, and then be warped high into the air in a straight line.

Down B: Smelting

This will come in three steps. The Subrosian will first pour out molten ore across the ground, burning anyone it touches. A second press will see them smack with their hammer into the ore. The third will cause them to draw a powerful item from it that they can then use any time.

Final Smash: Volcanic Activity

A volcano with the same design as those seen in Oracle of Seasons will appear in the background and start erupting, sending ash and fire raining down onto the stage.

Entrance: The Subrosian will appear from a warp point.

Taunts: Up, the Subrosian will do its little dance from the dance studio sidequest. Side, the Subrosian will move back and forth like its trying to confuse anyone following it. Down, the Subrosian will cover its face and look away.
