BYRNE
Today, we begin a new round of character sheets, all primarily appearing in the 2D titles from Oracles to Tri Force Heroes. We have quite a few, though not as many as the 3D titles. Among them are:
1. Four Links
2. Ravio
3. Princess Hilda
4. Toon Zelda
5. Din
6. Nayru
7. Ezlo
8. Minish/Picori
9. Linebeck
10. Oshus & Ciela
11. Ralph
12. Alfonzo
13. Madame Couture
14. Subrosian
15. Onox
16. Veran
17. Vaati
18. Bellum
19. Chancellor Cole & Malladus
20. Yuga
21. Lady Maud
22. Byrne
And now, we end our run of new characters with Byrne, the enforcer of Chancellor Cole throughout most of Spirit Tracks. He was a Lokomo, a train spirit-thing, who lusted for power and turned against his mentor Anjean, teaming up with Cole to free Malladus. In the end, he is betrayed by his masters and left for dead, siding with Link and Zelda against them and returning to his old master.
Byrne's main weapon is his clawed gauntlet that he can use to slash his foes, extend outward for far-away attacks, and use as a shield. He can also perform a stunning blast with magic, and he can lunge and jump around like a ninja, a major part of his design. It's light, but it's more than enough.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Ninja Slash
He will leap into the air and perform a strong slash forward, leaving behind three claw marks in the air and doing heavy damage.
Side B: Extension Claws
He will extend his claws out across the stage, stabbing his opponents from afar.
Up B: Ninja Leap
He will leap high into the air and then stab back downward.
Down B: Claw Shield
He will shield himself with his clawed gauntlet, acting as a pretty standard shield.
Final Smash: Spirit Lines
He will tap into some of his Lokomo magic and lay spirit tracks all around the stage. Spirit Trains will then speed along those tracks, pulling from all manner of trains seen in the game, including Link's train, enemy trains, and even the Demon Train on occasion.
Entrance: Three claw marks will appear and he will appear with a slash.
Taunts: Up, he will pound his chest in obeisance to Malladus. Side, he will get down into a challenging position as if ready to fight you. Down, he will hold his stomach as if wounded.
Thanks for reading! Now, let's update our character roster!
