Today, let cover a pair of comics printed in Nintendo Power: Mario vs. Wario and its sequel, Mario vs. Wario: The Birthday Bash. Both are mostly based on Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins and focus on the rivalry between Mario and Wario. This was the comic that originated Wario's origin story of having been bullied by Mario as a child, resulting in him becoming vitriolic and hateful toward the plumber as an adult. Outside of that, there's not really much to talk about.
