Character Sheet: Sir Raven

SIR RAVEN

Alright, so we did have one more semi-big character list in us. Let's get into it! This is all characters I could pull out originating from the Legend of Zelda manga, or were given just enough of a boost by the manga to make it into our rankings. They are:

1. Maple

2. Jolene

3. Ricky

4. Captain Stalfos

5. Manga Link

6. Riruto

7. Manga Zelda

8. Raska

9. Tou

10. Ghanti

11. Gonza

12. Kala

13. Captain Arjuna

14. Sir Raven

15. Biri

16. Com

17. Gump

18. Shemlon

19. Rouro

20. Ganon's Minion

21. Ganon's Heart

22. Ganos

23. Haggis

Today, we cover a character that was a rather natural inclusion to a story all about time travel, and that is Sir Raven, Link's ancestor from Himekawa's adaptation of Oracle of Ages. In the manga, Link travels to the past in pursuit of Veran-possessing-Nayru, and encounters a young hero who had taken it upon himself to defend the people against Queen Ambi's tyrannical rule. A hero who turned out to be his ancestor.

As a wanderer, Raven could fight, but he also had an understanding for survival skills that helped him aid the fugitives that had escaped the queen's indentured servitude. On the combat side, he could use a sword, an axe, and a peashooter, with a faithful horse companion, while on the survival side, he could fish, use a hook as a lockpick, and planted mystery seeds for the villagers. I think that's more than enough.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Peashooter

While his sword will likely function as his basic attacks, we can use his peashooter here, with him firing a set of projectiles to do a bit of damage.

Side B: Fishing Rod

Similarly to Isabelle's, he will cast out his line and catch a character, pulling them in.

Up B: Steed

He will hop on his horse and use it to leap up into the air, similar to many horse users we've seen so far.

Down B: Mystery Seed

He will plant a mystery seed in the ground, and a short while later, it will burst out of the ground and launch a fighter into the air.

Final Smash: Changing Time

He will jump through a time portal, like those created in the game and manga, and a few seconds later, the target hit with the initial strike with explode into oblivion.

Entrance: He will be sitting and fishing before noticing the other fighters are there.

Taunts: Up, he will stand and look all heroic-like. Side, he will sit and fish off the side for a second. Down, he will kneel and plant a seed.

Thanks for reading! Next up, a few more off-and-on companions over regulars.
