BIRI
Alright, so we did have one more semi-big character list in us. Let's get into it! This is all characters I could pull out originating from the Legend of Zelda manga, or were given just enough of a boost by the manga to make it into our rankings. They are:
1. Maple
2. Jolene
3. Ricky
4. Captain Stalfos
5. Manga Link
6. Riruto
7. Manga Zelda
8. Raska
9. Tou
10. Ghanti
11. Gonza
12. Kala
13. Captain Arjuna
14. Sir Raven
15. Biri
16. Com
17. Gump
18. Shemlon
19. Rouro
20. Ganon's Minion
21. Ganon's Heart
22. Ganos
23. Haggis
Today, we will cover Biri, or Billy, a recurring character from the Ran manga adaptation of the original two games. He's also one of the few lucky enough to survive the thing. He started out as a simple village boy who volunteered to guide Link to the dungeons in the area in the first series, leading a mob of villagers to Link's aid in the finale, and his actions earned him a spot as Zelda's personal bodyguard in the second series (good job, bud!), acting as a traveling companion to Link and Zelda here and there throughout the adventure.
In battle, he primarily uses a sword and spear as a royal knight of Princess Zelda, but the more interesting things came from the mob of villagers he led, who came with all the trappings you'd expect of a mob, including torches, pitchforks, and battering rams. Considering he's the most prominent original character to the Ran manga, he can also probably adopt a few unique characteristics of that series too.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Pitchfork
We'll leave his sword and spear for his basic attacks, and have him thrust forward with a pitchfork as his basic move, skewering enemies and throwing them up over his head.
Side B: Battering Ram
He and a couple of villager NPCs will hoist up a battering ram, and charge forward with it, slamming into opponents in their way hard.
Up B: Watto
Link's pet parrot, another original to the series, will appear and carry Biri upwards, taking care of both of his friends.
Down B: Torch
He will light up a torch and touch it to the ground, setting the space in front of him ablaze and burning anyone who touches it.
Final Smash: The People of Hyrule
He will stand up on a rock and shout "Charge!" as the people rise up and defend themselves against Ganon's tyrannical rule (which somehow translates to his opponents).
Entrance: He will be standing in armor a little too big for him.
Taunts: Up, he will rub the back of his head and look sheepish. Side, he will straighten up and stand at attention. Down, he will sit down and draw in the dirt.
Thanks for reading! Next up, a character I'm . . . pretty sure came from combining the ideas of Biri and Impa together.
