13. Huey
14. Merlon
15. Star Spirits
16. Smithy
17. Kammy Koopa
18. Sir Grodus
19. Count Bleck
20. Dimentio
21. Yaridovich
22. Axem Rangers
23. Lord Crump
24. The Shadow Sirens
25. O'Chunks
26. Mimi
27. Croco
28. Booster
29. Jonathan Jones
30. Valentina
31. Jr. Troopa
32. Doopliss
33. Rawk Hawk
34. Francis
35. Culex

Next up is Doopliss! Okay, full confession time: this one's a bit of a cheap character slot, as he won't really have a moveset of his own and will be a "playable character" the way Ditto will someday be. Basically, he'll have a basic character model, capable of doing the bare minimum like jumping and basic punches and stuff, with only one special move to speak of. That is, he can transform into one of his opponents and will then have their full moveset. All that's left to say I suppose is a small character introduction. Basically, he's a duplighost who acts as the boss of chapter four, where he haunts a small village, turning the villagers into pigs any time the church bell rings. When challenged by Mario and his party, he takes Mario's form and switches places with Mario. After he is defeated, he joins the Shadow Sirens, recurring throughout the rest of the game.

Here's the moveset I . . . barely came up with:

Standard B: Transform
I imagine he would become the featureless purple version of the character, just like when he becomes Mario (or whatever the colorswap colors would be). I just realized, this concept opens it up for gag battles where players pick nothing but transformers like Doopliss and Ditto, and then having battles with nothing but the bare-bones movesets of each. Sounds fun.

Final Smash: For Pigs the Bell Tolls
We'll have a cutscene showing the church belltower and hear the bell ringing. Every character will be transformed into a helpless piggy unable to do anything except move back and forth. Doopliss will be able to do with the pigs as he pleases until the spell wears off.

Entrance: He'll appear sitting in his green lounge chair

Taunts: Probably mimicking the character's taunts that he's copied, but probably with a bit more of a snarky tone to them, like he's mocking them.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we'll cover . . . the RAAAWWWWWK!

Character Sheet: Jr. Troopa

 JR. TROOPA

Are you guys excited? I'm excited. You should be too. You know why? Cause today we get to cover all the freakin' amazing characters from Super Mario RPG and the Paper Mario (pre-TOK) series, and even the not so amazing ones too. Here's the full list:

1. Cheep Cheep
2. Bob-Omb
3. Spike
4. Tiny Mouser
5. Mouser
6. Paper Mario
7. Mr. L
8. Geno
9. Mallow
10. Flurrie
11. Tippi & Pixls
12. Kersti
13. Huey
14. Merlon
15. Star Spirits
16. Smithy
17. Kammy Koopa
18. Sir Grodus
19. Count Bleck
20. Dimentio
21. Yaridovich
22. Axem Rangers
23. Lord Crump
24. The Shadow Sirens
25. O'Chunks
26. Mimi
27. Croco
28. Booster
29. Jonathan Jones
30. Valentina
31. Jr. Troopa
32. Doopliss
33. Rawk Hawk
34. Francis
35. Culex

Here's another one that's not particularly a favorite of mine, but in the interest of fairness, I can't say he didn't earn himself a spot too (if only just barely). Jr. Troopa follows in the same vein as characters like Croco, minor antagonists who cause trouble every now and then but aren't particularly tied to the plot itself. Basically, Jr. Troopa is a spoiled brat who acts as a bully around Goomba Village until he is defeated by Mario. Afterwards, he decides to stalk Mario and his party, gaining a new ability every time you fight him in an attempt to beat you, serving to help show off the new abilities you've garnered since you last fought him.

When you first fight him, he simply tackles you. In his next fight, he gains the ability to hide in his shell, offering up a layer of defense. After that, he sprouts wings that he uses to fly and avoid ground attacks. Then he develops a spike on top of his head to protect against players stomping on his head. Finally, he trades that all out for a magic staff that allows him to cast spells. In his final battle, he can switch between his various forms. His will be a very basic moveset, but not non-existent.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Staff
This is based on his magic form. He will pull out his staff and cast a projectile spell at his enemies.

Side B: Head Spike
This is a bit of a stretch but it's based on his spiky form. His spike will appear on top of his head, and he will charge forward with his head pointed down.

Up B: Wings
He will sprout his bat wings and fly upward for a short time.

Down B: Egg Shell
This one's a basic defense maneuver. He will tuck into his shell, forming a basic armor around him.

Final Smash: Koopa Bros.
Really this is the only one that he doesn't have anything particularly major to attach to, so at most I think I can attach to him another major villain that he does tend to cross paths with a few times. Basically, he'll call in the Koopa Bros. who will stack on top of each other and then spin at high speeds back and forth across the stage while Jr. Troopa cheers them on in the background.

Entrance: it would kinda be funny to watch him swim onto the stage with the implication he swam the whole way there. If not, just the basic "dramatic entrance" he tries to make every time.

Taunts: Various tough guy moves, trying to prove he's better than he really is.

Thanks for reading! Next up, let's cover another recurring boss from the Thousand-Year Door, Doopliss!

Character Sheet: Valentina

Today, we will finish up our Super Mario RPG bosses with Valentina and her sidekick Dodo, the bosses of Nimbus Land. In the game, Valentina attempts to usurp the throne of Nimbus Land by passing off her partner Dodo as the missing Prince Mallow, locking up the king and queen, and then announcing her phony engagement to Mallow. This is all thrown out of whack, however, when the real Mallow and his companions arrive and chase her out. This character will be a bit more of a tag team between Valentina and Dodo, with Dodo making up a hefty portion of her moveset.

Valentina uses primarily magic attacks in battle herself, being not much of a physical fighter. Her moves include Petal Blast, Diamond Saw, Blizzard, Water Blast, Aurora Flash, Light Beam, and Solidify, all of which tend to follow Mallow's lead of being nature and weather-based. Dodo can carry around Valentina by flying outside of battle, and in battle, he attacks with a series of pecks or by cancelling out the moves of another player. In your final battle with Valentina, he will also carry off one of your party members to fight one-on-one.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Petal Blast
This will work very similarly to how it works in-game, but as a bit more of a straight projectile, with her sending out a burst of petals that blast an opponent in the face.

Side B: Multistrike
This is Dodo's pecking attack. Valentina will point forward and Dodo will lunge out, pecking furiously at anyone in front of her.

Up B: Carry Away
Basically Valentina will take hold of Dodo's feet and he will carry her into the air for a short distance.

Down B: Flutter Hush OR Blizzard
Flutter Hush is the more iconic, with it being Dodo's move to remove one move from play, but I'm not certain how to make it work in game, somehow cancelling out a certain move for a short time, so if I can't make it work, I figure Valentina whipping up a Blizzard works as a suitable placeholder.

Final Smash: Aurora Flash OR Megasmilax
I feel like we've had a few now where the character has a bigger boss as their Final Smash, with Booster having the Bundt and Johnny having King Calamari, so I don't know if I want Megasmilax to do the same for her, and if we don't, I think Aurora Flash works just fine for it too.

Entrance: Dodo will carry her in.

Taunts: Her little hip dance she does when attacking. Dodo scratching his beak and trying to figure something out. Valentina bossing Dodo around. So on.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we'll cover the recurring boss of the first Paper Mario, Jr. Troopa!

Today, let's cover Jonathan Jones, the scurvy pirate captain who also happens to be a shark. Jonathan Jones is the main boss of the Sunken Ship area of Super Mario RPG. When one of the game's eponymous seven stars falls into his bay, he and his pirate crew claim it for themselves until Mario and his party arrive to challenge him for it. Once he is defeated, he honors Mario's strength by not only giving him the star but also by preventing the escape of Yaridovich when he tries to steal it. Honestly, this guy's one cool dude and I'm glad he's here.

In battle, he doesn't have as much to work with as you might think, his main attack being a double stab with his harpoon, accompanied by a diamond saw move, a draining move, and a Get Tough! move when his health falls below half, which I think could work similar to Lucario's thing of him getting tougher the more damage he takes. What helps his case, however, is the world that he is the boss of, as he is the leader of a band of pirates living in a sunken ship, and like Booster, most of it can be applied to him as well. Most of his minions are Bandana Blues and Reds who mostly attack with their spears, though the sea and the ship are also infested with rats, crabs, starfish, jellyfish, false treasure chests, and other types of enemies floating around.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Skewer
This one is basically his most iconic move in the game. Johnny will stab forward twice in quick succession with his harpoon, doing damage both coming and going with it.

Side B: Starslap
This one sorta combines the starfish enemies that appear frequently throughout the game, the starfish item used by the players in the game, and the diamond saw item Johnny himself uses. Basically, he will send a starfish spinning forward at high speeds like a boomerang.

Up B: Trampoline
Since he's probably one of the few we see using these outside of the main party in the game, he and his men using them to leap out of the water and block Yaridovich's escape, and these are scattered frequently around his ship as a means to get to the surface quickly, I think it works. I just fear it might look a little silly for this grizzled shark pirate with a hook for a hand to jump around on a trampoline while fighting Jigglypuff.

Down B: Hidon
This is based on the false treasure chest enemies scattered throughout the game (especially in his area). Johnny will toss out a treasure chest and leave it behind. If an opponent approaches it, it will spring to life and attack them, but if Johnny himself approaches it, he can open it to retrieve a useful item.

Final Smash: King Calamari
King Calamari is a mini-boss appearing in Johnny's ship, a giant squid stuck in a barrel. It will appear to one side of the stage and whip its tentacles everywhere, spraying ink as it does so.

Entrance: He will leap from the water accompanied by two Bandana Blues.

Taunts: A Bandana Blue will hop excitedly around him. He will pump his harpoon and raise it to the sky. Maybe pick his teeth with his hook.

Character Sheet: Booster

 BOOSTER

33. Rawk Hawk
34. Francis
35. Culex

So, today, we will cover Booster, a not-so-bright manchild who lives in a tower full of toys and kidnaps Peach to try and marry her. Technically, I was initially not going to include him as a playable character, as he didn't have much fightwise to work with, but after I was sorting through all the notes for the Super Mario RPG blog post, I realized that there's plenty within his toy tower to make a suitable moveset, and since the area they are the boss of helped flesh out Johnny Jones's moveset (coming next), I realized I couldn't play favorites just because Johnny's awesome and Booster is, well, not.

Booster himself has only a few attacks to himself, one where he drops a bunch of bombs on you, and another where he sends his toy train to run you over. His train is also used outside of battle, transporting him around his castle and through a racing minigame taking him to the wedding chapel in Marrymore. He also has a number of toy minions, including robotic marionettes, jesters that throw playing cards, and living magic wands, as well as his two main generals, Knife Guy and Grate Guy, a pair of clowns, one of whom uses throwing knives, and one of whom rides around on a ball. During the final showdown with him in Marrymore, his wedding cake comes to life and acts as the final boss (definitely Final Smash material).

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Throwing Knives
Basically, he will make use of Knife Guy's knife throwing skills, somewhat combined with the cards of his Jesters, but since they're both throwing projectile, I went with the deadlier option.

Side B: Loco Express
His toy train will appear and drive forward, plowing into enemies. He can ride it if he wishes. If you can manage a hit with it, the move can be deadly at low damage percentages.

Up B: Bouncy Ball
This one is based on Grate Guy's bouncy ball, although if you wish, the trampolines that appear throughout the game could best be applied to him, as they are toys in a sense.

Down B: Bomb Spritz
I figure enemies like Remo Cons and Orb Users can come into his moveset in other ways. This will act much like Bomb Spritz does in game, with a number of bombs appearing directly over the target's head and pouring onto them, exploding on impact.

Final Smash: Bundt Cake
His living cake will appear on the stage and attack, swiping at the opponents for a short time before disappearing. Chef Torte might appear as well.

Entrance: He will drive in on his train.

Taunts: Playing with various toys, talking briefly to a Snifit, so on.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we'll cover the scoundrel of the Seven Stars' seas, Jonathan Jones!

31. Jr. Troopa
32. Doopliss
33. Rawk Hawk
34. Francis
35. Culex

Today, we leave the main plot characters behind and cover the memorable bosses who were more or less agents unto themselves in their antagonism of you. The first of these we will cover is Croco, the crocodile thief from Super Mario RPG who would provide a template for characters like Popple later on in Mario's RPG history. Croco appears a few times throughout the game, mostly having just stolen something important that Mario will have to track him down to get back. That's pretty much the long and the short of it for him.

Obviously, his main skill is theft, stashing the items he steals in the bag he carries around. He can also zip around really fast, meaning he'll probably be on the speedy side of the roster. In battle, his main moves are biting you as a basic attack, throwing bombs from his bag, throwing stolen enemies from his bag, and eating a "weird mushroom" that heals most of his damage. He also apparently has a crew of thieves who help him, but never in battle, I guess.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Steal
This one will function very similar to Villager's move of the same type. He will grab any projectiles that come his way and stash them in his bag, storing up to five items at a time. He will then use his Side B to throw them back as we will cover.

Side B: Chomp
Despite the odd name, this will more or less be the returning move. He will reach into his bag and throw something out. If he has any stolen items stashed, he will throw those first. If he hasn't stolen any, he will throw out some of the enemies unique to Super Mario RPG, as a way to represent them. On occasion, he will throw out a bomb as well.

Up B: Spin Flower
As aerial maneuvers really were never Super Mario RPG's strong suit, we'll go for a bit of a stretch here and use the flowers that appeared in the very first level that he appeared in, and that he himself used to make a getaway. He will stand on the flower, it will spin him around for a second, and then he will fly into the air for a short distance.

Down B: Weird Mushroom
Croco will pull the weird mushroom from his bag, eat it, maybe wear a grossed-out face for a second, and then some of his health will be restored.

Final Smash: Ambush
The move will start with an uppercut that will knock the opponent into the air and into a ceiling of rock, knocking them out. Once the opponent is knocked out, he will shout "Get 'em, boys," as a band of Crooks hop onto the stage and pickpocket the victim's body, racking up damage as they do. Might end with a finisher.

Entrance: Running in like he's being pursued.

Taunts: Digging through his bag, hiding behind a shrub, hopping around all angry-like, so on.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we'll cover the Wario-esque manchild of the game, Booster!

Character Sheet: Mimi

 MIMI

32. Doopliss
33. Rawk Hawk
34. Francis
35. Culex

Today, let's cover Mimi, the last of Count Bleck's followers that we'll be covering. Mimi is a self-proclaimed beauty with the ability to transform herself into anything at will, including a terrifying giant spider form. You first encounter her in Merlee's Castle, where she has impersonated the sorceress and enslaved everyone living there. After that, you face her a few more times, but in the end, just like O'Chunks, she proves her loyalty to Count Bleck above all else and helps you take down Dimentio.

Most of her battles take place in her spider form, but I figure in Smash, she'd be in her standard appearance mostly, with her spider-form showing up in more special circumstances. While her mimicry is her most important feature, most of her combat-based moves are centered around her use of rubees, a type of currency she is obsessed with. These include shooting one from the top of her head like a missile, dropping one from above, sending forth a tidal wave of them, sending them out in a circle and in a straight line, and finally spinning through the air with them sticking out of her body like razor blades. I think we have enough.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Rubee Missile
This one is one of her most basic attacks, basically she will fire a Rubee from the top of her head which will then fire after an enemy as a projectile.

Side B: Rubee Wave
She will summon up a wave of Rubees that will move forward, doing damage with every individual Rubee that makes contact.

Up B: Rubee Razor
Mimi will spin really fast upward into the air with four Rubees sticking out of her body, doing damage like razor blades.

Down B: Mimic
This is such an important part of Mimi's character that it needs to be represented in someway. It could be a purely aesthetic change, adopting the appearance of an enemy but retaining Mimi's own moves, or it could be a full change like Doopliss and other shapeshifters like Ditto will. I'm not sure yet. You pick as you will.

Final Smash: Spider Form
Mimi will transform into her spider form and crawl around the stage, doing damage with her legs, while firing off Rubees in every direction.

Entrance: She'd appear as one of her opponents, using their entrance and everything, and then turn back into Mimi with a giggle.

Taunts: "Mimimimimimi!" Sending her head spinning for a second. Transforming into an opponent for a second and checking herself out. A little curtsy. So on.

Thanks for reading! Next up, we will begin the bosses that don't particularly have any connection to the main villains of their respective games, starting with Croco!
