Character Sheet: The Kitakami Legends

OKIDOGI/MUNKIDORI/FEZANDIPITI/OGERPON/PECHARUNT

Next up, we have a set of five Pokemon based on the Legend of Momotaro, which mostly plays out throughout the Teal Mask DLC and the later final story, but with a twist. First, we have the “Loyal Three,” a trio of Pokemon revered as heroes named Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, based on the dog, monkey, and pheasant companions of Momotaro respectively. Their enemy was Ogerpon, based on the villainous Oni from the legend, as well as an orange, but with the reveal that Ogerpon is actually a sweetheart unfairly villainized by history and bullied out of the village by the three. And finally, we have Pecharunt, a little ghost living inside a peach, who used its poison bands to control the minds of the loyal three to drive them against Ogerpon. That’s Momotaro himself.

Here’s the moveset I came up with:

Final Smash: Pecha Possession (OkMFP) | Mask Terastallization (Og)

 

Entrance: Rising from their graves, hanging out in its cave, emerging from a fruit stand.

 

Taunts: That chicken dance, Ogerpon’s little happy dance, things like that.

 

Kirby Hat: Pecharunt’s chains, Ogerpon’s main mask.

 

Kart: The Poke Ball car

Special Move: Malignant Chain, Ivy Cudgel

 

Spirit Battle: On Naranja/Uva Academy

 

Victory Screen: Pecharunt and the Loyal Three spreading Pecharunt’s influence through their opponents, Ogerpon dancing and enjoying the festival.
