Kirby Super Star Ultra

KIRBY SUPER STAR ULTRA

Kirby Super Star Ultra is a remake of Super Star Ultra, mostly recreating the game largely as is, with a handful of modernized updates here and there. There are also four new game chapters, including Revenge of the King (a harder version of Spring Breeze), Helper to Hero (Arena but you play as the helpers), Meta Knightmare Ultra (where you play as Meta Knight through most of the game's modes), and the True Arena (fighting through the ten new battles of these four modes). Meta Knightmare Ultra is most notable for being the introduction of Galacta Knight, with Meta Knight wishing to challenge the strongest fighter in the universe when he approaches Galactic Nova.

And that's pretty much it! Here's what we've got so far:

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

KIRBY: NIGHTMARE IN DREAM LAND

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land is a full overhaul remake of Kirby's Adventure. It is more or less the same in terms of content, but the engine has been rebuilt and a few things have been updated to match the modern series, such as adding in Makiko Ohmoto's iconic voice acting for Kirby, a few enemies have been replaced by more standard versions of the same concept, a few copy abilities have been renamed to their more standard name, and a lot of more recent iconic songs have been added in, like the Gourmet Race theme. An additional mode was added, called Meta Knightmare, which had Meta Knight play through the levels without being able to save.

And that's pretty much it! Here's what we've got:

Meta Knight

Kirby Fighters 2

KIRBY FIGHTERS 2

Kirby Fighters 2 is a sequel to Kirby Fighters Deluxe, and thus basically Super Smash Bros. but with Kirby characters (mainly different copy ability Kirbys) as playable characters. The playable characters include Archer, Artist, Beam, Beetle, Bell, Bomb, Cutter, Fighter, Hammer, Ninja, Parasol, Staff, Sword, Water, Whip, Yo-Yo, and the brand-new completely original Wrestler Kirby. All of them have their own moveset, and to ease my workload, I'm just keeping a mark on the WiKirby page that lists their moves so I can just look them up when I'm doing the character sheet. It's much easier that way.

Outside of the Kirbys, Bandana Waddle Dee, Gooey, Magolor, Meta Knight, and King Dedede are also playable. Our stages include the Star Allies-based Green Gardens, Springy-Hand Land, Dried-Up Sea (based on Planet Robobot), a basic training arena, Gourmet Go Go (based on Gourmet Race), Bubbly Clouds, Haldera Volcano, Castle Lololo, Waddle Dee Train Tracks, Coo's Forest, Dedede Arena, Butter Building, Factory Tour, Gigavolt (based on the boss battle), Dynablade's Nest, Jambastion Entrance (from Star Allies), The Empyrean (based on the Clash games), Fountain of Dreams, and the Stage of Destined Rivals (or Partners), which is basically the final battle arena.

Two Whispy Woods, two Gigant Edges, and Shadow Kirby act as bosses. Action Stars, Bombers, Buddy Star Blasters, Cheer Pom-Poms, Containers, Crackers, Cracklers, Dash Shoes, Food, Gordo Balls, Ice Containers, Invincible Candies, Mikes, Mint Leaves, Timed Dynamite, and a Zap Weapon are the items.

Kirby: Battle Royale

KIRBY: BATTLE ROYALE

Honestly, probably the closest Kirby ever got to a party game. Kirby gets invited to a tournament set up by King Dedede, where he has to compete with a bunch of other Kirbys in all sorts of different types of games. Obviously Kirby is our main character, with Sword, Bomb, Beetle, Spear, Cutter, Fighter, Ninja, Whip, Parasol, Hammer, Doctor, Tornado, Ice, Mirror, and . . . Sleep? Really? With a full moveset involving pillows and putting people to sleep and everything? Well . . . dang. There goes one of my planned Assist Trophies. Also Bandana Waddle Dee acts as your go-to second player, while King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Parasol Waddle Dee are all unlockable.

The games you take part in include: Battle Arena, a straight up fighting arena; Apple Scramble, around Whispy Woods; Coin Clash, a coin collecting game; Attack Riders, sorta like the Mario Kart battle mode; Crazy Theatre, a series of minigames; Rocket Rumble, where you each try to shoot the highest; Robo Bonkers, a boss battle against a giant robot Bonkers; Slam Hockey, hockey with a giant puck; Ore Express, a train-chasing game; and Flagball, a sort of capture-the-flag type game.

Anyway, that's about it! Here's what we've got:

Kirby's Blowout Blast

KIRBY'S BLOWOUT BLAST

Yet another subgame expanded to a full e-Shop game, this time coming from Planet Robobot. The game is set on a top-down 3-dimensional playing with Kirby primarily sucking things in and spitting them out to fight various enemies. Lololo and Lalala, Kracko, and King Dedede act as bosses, with Lololo and Kracko Jr. acting as earlier . . . mini-fights, I guess. Mashers are large armored knights with maces who act as the mid-bosses. A lot of the enemies are pretty basic standards of the series. The stages are loosely based on Green Greens, Float Islands, Castle Lololo, Bubbly Clouds, and Mt. Dedede.

And that's pretty much it! Here's what we've got so far:

Characters:

Archer*

Beam

Bomb

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe

TEAM KIRBY CLASH DELUXE

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe is yet another mini-game expanded into a full e-shop game, this one particularly controversial due to the microtransactions present in the game practically required to progress. The story is set in an alternate D&D-style universe where a band of adventurers come to the Dream Kingdom, and get hired out to fight various monsters rampaging, earning in-game money in the process.

Your team of adventurers are Team Kirby: Sword Hero, a Kirby based on Sword Kirby/a paladin, but with a few more elements such as a bubble shield and a more fleshed-out moveset; Hammer Lord, a Kirby based on Hammer Kirby/a barbarian, with a lot of powerful hammer attacks; Doctor Healmore, a Kirby based on Doctor Kirby/a cleric, with lots of healing abilities based more on those old-timey remedies; and Beam Mage, a Kirby based on Beam Kirby/a wizard, with powerful spells like the ability to control time.

Magolor and Bandana Waddle Dee act as your main allies, with Magolor as the town merchant who sells you all the microtransaction stuff. Then the monsters you fight include Waddle Dee, Kabu, Hot Head, Mr. Frosty, King Doo, Gigant Edge, Kracko, Kibble Blade, Bonkers, Blocky, Whispy Woods, Miasmoros, Ice Dragon, Greater Doomer, Pyribbit, Telepathos, Landia, Taranza, parallel world versions of Susie, Landia, and Taranza, and a final boss named King D-Mind. King D-Mind looks like King Dedede mixed with Dark Mind, and has moves based on both, wielding a hammer that can shoot missiles and a large poleaxe, while also having an eye on his belly and so on.

The battles take place on arenas around Dream Kingdom, including Grasslands, Dunes, Ruins, Volcano, Empyrean, and the Decisive Battlefield.

Here's what we've got so far:

Archer*

Kirby Fighters Deluxe

KIRBY FIGHTERS DELUXE

I suppose one would think that a game like this was inevitable, given the relationship between the Kirby and Smash series. After all, there's a reason so many random one-off enemies and bosses became playable, because the two series share a lot of design philosophies in common. So, basically a Smash game with different Kirbys fighting each other just makes sense.

The roster for the game includes Archer, Beam, Bomb, Cutter, Fighter, Hammer, Ninja, Parasol, Sword, Whip, Beetle, and Bell Kirby, with full movesets for each. Obviously this means that the main reps for the Archer and Bell abilities can consider themselves added. I think that was Ringle for Bell, and . . . I have to go digging up those notes for Archer. Don't worry, I will when we get to that point. King Dedede acts as a final boss.

Our stages are Flower Land, a generic stage; Springy Hand Land, with all those hands shooting out from the background; Castle Lololo, a near-perfect recreation; Coo's Forest, a stage with lots of trees; Dedede Arena; Factory Tour, with smashing hammers; Bubbly Clouds, a sky stage; Dynablade's Nest from Super Star; Butter Building, also perfectly recreated; Haldera Volcano, a lava stage; Fountain of Dreams; and Waddle Dee Train Tracks, another with some of those 3D elements from Triple Deluxe, where the origin of this game came from.

The items include Action Stars, Bombers, Containers, Cracklers, Dash Shoes, Food, Gordo Balls, Invincible Candies, Mikes, Mint Leaves, Team Cannons, and Timed Dynamite.

And that's it for now! Here's what we've got:
